This Spanish movie star has starred in huge American blockbusters like “Blow” and “Nine,” as well as foreign films like “Volver” and “Broken Embraces.” She won an Academy Award for her performance in “Vicky Cristina Barcelona."

  2. Javier Bardem This lucky Spanish movie star is married to Penelope Cruz. The couple represents their home countries of Spain on the screen very well. Bardem received a great deal of buzz playing Anton in “No Country for Old Men.” He sizzled, though, when he returned back to his Spanish roots and starred as a romancer juggling two women in “Vicky Cristina Barcelona.”

  3. Antonio Banderas Famous for decades, Banderas has appeared in scores of American films. However, this Spanish movie star always manages to showcase his Latin roots. He played the Mexican hero Zorro and has starred in movies like “Desperado,” “Original Sin” and “Interview with the Vampire.”

Paz Vega This Spanish beauty is probably best known in America for her role in “Spanglish.” In the movie, she played a recent immigrant working for a highly dysfunctional upper class family headed by Adam Sandler and Tea Leoni. The Spanish movie star, however, has starred in a number of great foreign films, including a role as the title character in “Sex and Lucia.”

  5. Maribel Verdu This Spanish movie star has appeared in a number of Spanish films, but recently broke out among more mainstream audiences with her role in the Francis Ford Coppola film “Tetro.” She also had parts in the hit movies like “Pan’s Labyrinth” and “Y Tu Mama Tambien.”
