They'll stick to the plan if they want their six seasons and a movie.

Just because they don’t have a writing staff doesn’t mean the cast of Community hasn’t received any interesting scripts of late. THR got its hands on a leaked memo sent from Sony to the cast instructing them how to handle Dan Harmon’s shit-canning when asked about it in the press. They’re instructed to smile and look pretty and be classy. Yes. Even Chevy Chase.

Team Community:

With last night‘s news of David Guarascio and Moses Port as new showrunners/EPs on “Community” running in the press, and since we know that cast members have interviews coming up this week, I wanted to forward some messaging we hope our cast will find helpful as they navigate questions that will undoubtedly come up. I know that David and Moses are reaching out to them all directly but I’ve also heard from some of the actors that they’d like some guidance on the topic.

I saw some of the tweets that went out and wereglad they all addressed their own sentiments quickly, and we’re hoping that the news will lose some steam over the next day, especially if we’re not perpetuating the topic in any way

We’re tracking the coverage and conversation and will circle back if we feel the need to reshift our plan or messaging. Please let me know if you have questions.

Why did Dan get let go from the show?

We’re not made aware of why staffing changes take place but I will always be grateful to Dan for his great work on the show and wish him only the best. We’re also excited that we’ll be back on NBC’s schedule in the fall and are looking forward to working on those episodes.

Were you aware that Dan was going to be let go?

No, that’s not something we’re consulted on. I’m sad to see him go but I am looking forward to starting our next 13 episodes of “Community.”

Did the studio or network consult with you about these changes?

No they didn’t but we’re looking forward to working with David Guarascio & Moses Port on a new season of Community.

What are their plans for the new season?

It’s a little early to say at this point but we’re looking forward the stories our characters will find themselves in come Sept.

It makes me unhappy to see the Greendale 7 moved to the Friday night death slot while NBC burns off a shortened season with the obvious hopes of reaching the magic number needed for a syndication deal. And now they just have to lie there and like it. Dan Harmon needs to devise a plan to rescue them Ocean’s 11 style but plan for that plan to fail so that his actual secret plan will be even more mind-blowing. That or just paintball the network executives as they drive off the lot.

Also, Alison Brie is banging Dave Franco. These truly are the darkest of times.

Unfortunately, 'Agent Ox' is not about a secret agent who is also an ox.

In Hollywood, it’s sometimes about who you know. And screenwriter Daniel Kunka must know some pretty great negotiators, because his long sought-after spec script Agent Ox has been the subject of a bidding war which finally ended last night, with producer Neal Mortiz (who most recently produced The Green Hornet) spending 300,000 dollars from Sony Pictures‘ “discretionary fund” in order to beat studios like Paramount, DreamWorks, and Fox to the project. Wow, that was a really long sentence – any Hollywood types want to buy it? I could let it go for cheap.

Kunka previously wrote the John Cena vehicle 12 Rounds, so it’s a little unclear on why there was such a mad dash to get the rights to Agent Ox. It could be the premise, which is about a “human spy on an alien planet,” or it might be something magical in the script that made so many executives think this is going to be a hit. “Human spy on an alien planet,” are you KIDDING me? I came up with that idea when I was 11. I should have been a screenwriter.
