The writer of Erin Brockovich Susannah Grant is working on another biopic, this one in a more “inspirational” vein than the Soderbergh movie. It’s about Lynn Shaw, America’ High School Theater Teacher, who passed away in 2009. Among her pupils is the now-famous Jessica Simpson, who arranged a musical tribute to her beloved teacher.

As if that doesn’t sound promising enough, the movie is being worked on by the duo that created “Smallville,” Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. So perhaps the “inspirational” twist of this biopic will be that Lynn Shaw is blessed with some kind of superpower and is then killed during battle with a giant monster or something. Think about it, Ms. Grant. (via Comingsoon.net)

For most of you, maybe even 99.9% of you, I'm guessing the answer is "no."

Superman may be able to leap tall buildings and speak with a British accent, but young Clark Kent had an even more amazing superpower: his show “Smallville” on The CW managed to stay on the air for a solid decade. I remember “Smallville” sounding like a cool show 8-9 years ago, but I never jumped on board. Then I just subconsciously assumed it got cancelled around the time ladies were discussing their “humps.” Nobody I know ever talks about “Smallville,” despit knowing many hardcore comic book geek friends, and up until this point I don’t think I had read any news about “Smallville.”

Yet, here we are, folks. Talking about “Smallville.” Cause it’s ending soon. Will you marathon the first nine seasons before watching the final 10th season? For most of you, maybe even 99.9% of you, I’m guessing the answer is “no.”

“Smallville” will end with a two hour event on May 13th, and Clark Kent will finally (finally) become the tights-wearing dude who frequently occupies what remains of Metropolis‘ pubic phone booths. Here’s what you can expect from the finale:

“The story of a young Clark Kent (Tom Welling) and his journey to becom the Man of Steel has captivated audiences for a decade.  This final season, Clark attempts to find a balance between saving the world, which becomes even more difficult as the Vigilante Registration Act separates a nation, and spending time with his new fiancée Lois Lane (Erica Durance).  Whether it’s donning glasses as a disguise, changing in a phone booth or learning how to fly, this season has put Clark closer to his destiny than ever before.  Taking on Darkseid and battling the darkest of his demons, this two-hour event will send Clark soaring towards his birthright to secure his place in history as the world’s greatest protector.”

Wait, his fiancee is Lois Lane? Does he already work at the Daily Planet? I don’t understand how– You know, I’d better not get into it. I’ll just watch a bunch of those animated Superman DVDs, so Supes and I can call it even until the new movie. (Screenrant)
