Readers, say hello to “Sort-Of Attractive and Not-Really-That-Funny Wednesdays.” This fall, on NBC! * xylophone chimes*

One saving grace for the show is that it’s a pet project of Ron Howard, who gave us Arrested Development and, therefore, is a more important American than Abraham Lincoln. The (sort of) logline is (from Deadline):

“Loosely based on Silverman’s life, the untitled single-camera comedy stars the comedian as a woman readjusting to the single life after a decade-long live-in relationship. Silverman wrote the script with Dan Sterling and Jon Schroeder, who were writer-producers on her self-titled Comedy Central series.”

Well, I wasn’t the hugest fan of her CC show, but I fear that when here profane charm is ground down by the network so as not to offend anyone, the results will be less than stellar.

Still, it’s gotta be better than Mike and Mindy or whatever the hell that other show is called.

The show would be written by Silverman and”The Sarah Silverman Program” alum Jon Schroeder, and overseen by its former showrunner Dan Sterling. Sounds like they’re getting the band back together. The only problem is, the band doesn’t know where it’s going to go. No deals with networks have been struck so it’s unsure if this will be drafted with cable outlets in mind or more family-friendly networks. I whole-heartedly believe that middle-America is ready for jokes about raping Chinese people, so it could go either way.

Silverman and her vag will next appear in Take This Waltz with Seth Rogen.

Up to this point, it sounds a bit like Arrested Development, which it totally fine, but the family starts to resent their younger brother who has aired the family’s dirty laundry, albeit in a fictional fashion. In short, it’s a movie about a family bickering. Which has been done to death, but not with this caliber of comedians. Would I want this cast in a movie about the atrocities of WWII? Probably not. Will I take them as bickering drunkards? Every day of the week. (Yahoo Movies!)

After building a career out of using it as a punchline, Sarah Silverman is now planning to show her vagina. She’ll film her first full-frontal nude scene in Sarah Polley‘s Take This Waltz, the film we dubbed too "meh" to write about previously. But in light of recent news, kind of a lot of things have changed don’t ya think?

In the film, Silverman plays a new mom so impressed with her post-baby body that she declares, "I look in the mirror, and I wanna f**k myself." The real Silverman however, doesn’t share that sensibility. Of the role, she says:

"I go totally naked. Full frontal. It’s going to be awful. It’s so not pretty."

Sarah Silverman is funny, cute, and doesn’t mind if you fart in front of her. What more could you ask for from a lady?! Jimmy Kimmel not standing next to her. That’s what I’d ask for. Sarah stars as herself in The Sarah Silverman Program tonight at 10:30PM EST on Comedy Central.

You get Sarah Silverman and Demetri Martin together in a vast empty room with only one stick of furniture to sit on and they’re bound to think of something funny. Or you’d think that, but the above promo proves otherwise. At least the footage of the comedians’ new seasons got me smiling. Come on, Sarah, you couldn’t have at least ripped a juicy one? You KNOW it would have echoed. Or did the suits at the network put the kibosh on that?
