He's throwing in the towel... that he previously used to break some guy's arm.

There comes a time in every man’s life when they need to give up the pursuit of hitting other guys in the face with paintcans. Sadly for cinema, it is now that time for Jackie Chan. He’s announced that with his newest film, Chinese Zodiac, he will retire from big action films. Unless we’re talking about Rush Hour or Karate Kid sequels. Dude’s gotta eat, y’know?

“I don’t just want to be an action star, I want to be a true actor. So for the last 10 years I’ve done other films like The Karate Kid, where I’d rather play an old man.”

“I will ask my body how long I can go. I’m not young anymore,” he said, but added: “In the future I’ll still do Karate Kid 2, Rush Hour 4.” (BBC)

And Expendables 3. And the Las Vegas-set Shanghai Rollers. But then that’s it. Acting only after those.

They're crazy, but they always get their man.

The crazy cop duo is a staple of modern cinema. For some reason, audiences flock to movies about two mismatched police officers almost as enthusiastically as to movies about real and/or animated penguins. If you’re a crazy cop pairing fan, you’ll love these seven. Enjoy – and one more screw-up like this and you’re off the case!

Jack Cates and Reggie Hammond, 48 Hrs.

It all began here. And by “it” I mean “the buddy cop genre,” not “Nick Nolte‘s gradual slide into insanity.” The basic premise here is that grizzled police detective Cates (Nick Nolte) has to team up with wisecracking small-time criminal Hammond (Eddie Murphy) to catch The Bad Guy. The crazy part of this duo comes from the fact that not only is Nick Nolte a really obvious racist, but he seems to hate most white people too. The perpetually apoplectic Nolte and the laid-back wise-ass Murphy are a match made in crazy cop heaven, if such a place exists.

Joe Friday and Pep Streebek, Dragnet

Dan Aykroyd is the fast-talking by-the-books police officer Joe Friday. Tom Hanks is the hilariously-named Pep Streebek, one of these new kind of cops who doesn’t keep his car clean. Together they fight over things like hair, wardrobe, and chilli dogs. But eventually they end up forming a friendship, and taking down the evil Christopher Plummer in the process. Hooray for crazy cop duos who eventually learn to respect each other and save the day!

In honor of Chris Tucker losing his pirate ship-themed home.

Chris Tucker is facing foreclosure on his waterfront Orlando home. The actor owes the bank $4.4 million on the $6 million home, which has five bedrooms, three fireplaces, and a basement designed to look like a pirate ship. Wow. I’d heard Chris Tucker was crazy, but I didn’t realize he was Nicolas Cage crazy.

Tucker should realize that as crappy as it seems right now, things could always be much worse. Like in the case of these seven celebrities who have lived in some of the dingiest or strangest homes. Keep your head up, Chris Tucker. And whatever you’re thinking of doing, don’t. The world doesn’t need another Rush Hour movie.

Mike Tyson’s Abandoned Mansion

Mike Tyson‘s abandoned Southington mansion is about the only thing that could get me to roadtrip to Ohio. Complete with a moss covered indoor swimming pool, a massive, trashed living room, holes punched through walls, and rusty tiger cages, it’s like a dark-humored Disney World. Oh, I guess that would make it Disney Land.

The boxer lived here for a period in the 1990′s and it has sat abandoned ever since. If I were a high schooler, I would so party in there.

Taran Noah Smith’s Trashed House

Home Improvement’s youngest son Taran Noah Smith has had a bit of a tough time. He was kicked out of his Sherman Oaks home shortly after he and his wife decided to open a vegan restaurant in it. They left the house looking like the site of an acid trip orgy. Cryptic messages and strange drawings were found drawn on the walls that were left standing. That’s why he should have gone to college. That’s were you go to get vandalism out of your system.
