There Is No God: ‘Little Fockers’ Passes $100 Million

True Grit, the critically acclaimed Coen brothers’ film, came in second with $24.5 million, and Tron: Legacy snagged third with $18 million. But none of this matters, considering we are living in a cold, meaningless world where Little Fockers reigns supreme.

Review: Little Fockers
Monday, December 20 by

I actually liked Meet the Parents and The Fockers. By Little Fockers, it’s even worn off on my forgiving nature. Little Fockers is a clear example of a trilogy running out of steam and repeating itself in part three.

‘Little Fockers’ One-Sheets Turn Back Hands Of Time
Monday, October 25 by

Daaaaamn, De Niro. You look gooooooood. In these new Little Fockers character one-sheets, all signs of aging have been Photoshopped away from the stars' faces. Notice how Robert De Niro doesn't have any lines on his forehead. Even newborns have those. The guy is 67-years-old. Leave some lines on there so he doesn't look like a cyborg! I'm surprised they didn't airbrush his mole off while they were at it. It's a huge deterrent for audiences. Why would anyone want to see a movie full of actors with imperfections? I'll stay home and watch "Gossip Girl," thank you very much.
Check out Ben Stiller's creepy, wrinkle-free skin after the jump…

Fantastic Fest Review: ‘Stone’
Friday, September 24 by

Stone starts with some intense emotional terrorism. This is how you show how seriously conflicted people can be. It’s not just hitting or yelling at each other. What young Jack Mabry does to his family is so sickening you feel anything could happen in this drama. I have not qualms with watching a tough, intense story. Just don’t wuss out on me. Make the characters really complex and manipulative, and let Robert DeNiro and Edward Norton play them.

After about an hour though, you realize that the opening scene isn’t setting anything up for later. This is just going to be one of those films that revels in despair and monotony, just another “bad things happen, people are miserable” pieces for actors who want to show how downbeat they can be.
More after the jump…

Pacino, Pesci to Join De Niro, Scorsese for ‘The Irishman’
Tuesday, September 14 by

How many Italians does it take to make The Irishman? At least four, from what I can tell.

Deadline is reporting that Al Pacino and Joe Pesci are joining Robert De Niro for Martin Scorsese's planned adaptation of I Heard You Paint Houses, a book chronicling the life of Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran, a reputed hitman who some suspect was behind the disappearance of Teamsters president Jimmy Hoffa.

While the film would mark the first Scorsese/De Niro collaberation since Casino (1995), chances are it won't begin production anytime soon. Scorsese is currently working on Hugo Cabret and doing press for the HBO series, "Boardwalk Empire." The famed director is also slated to film a Frank Sinatra biopic, which would further postpone any work on The Irishman.

Personally, all this talk about Irishmen and Italians is making me a little uncomfortable. Like my grandma always said, the only people worth a good god damn come from eastern Bulgaria. It's our world, and you punks are just living in it. International calling code 395 4 life, bitch! (Collider)

‘Little Fockers’ Needs Dustin Hoffman to Save It
Wednesday, August 4 by

Little Fockers is in trouble, and Universal Studios is deperately looking for a solution. Earlier in the week, Deadline reported that execs think a week of pickups with the principal cast in September is required to bring the movie closer to a viewable state. They were even at one point considering replacing director Paul Weitz with producer-writer John Hamburg, but that tactic got "rejected after Hamburg visited the set one weekend." He obviously wasn't pleased with the BBQ chicken quesadillas craft services slaved over.
Now Universal believes the answer to their problems comes in the form of a short, Jewish, 73 year-old man named Dustin Hoffman. Vulture reports that the studio is "looking into whether Hoffman might consider a last-minute reprise of his role as Bernie Focker in an effort to funny-up the comedy." Yeah, let's shoe horn in the arrival of Ben Stiller's character's neurotic Jewish father and all will be well. If Dustin doesn't cut it, then we'll fly in Barbra Streisand. If she doesn't work out, we'll add a ton more foreskin jokes, say our prayers, and let the chips fall where they may. Somewhere, some Universal exec has a thousand-yard stare and is tracing the trigger of a revolver with his index finger.

‘Machete’ Trailer Pretty Much Kicks All Ass
Thursday, July 8 by

The new Machete trailer has slashed its way onto the Internetz. We last saw an "illegal" trailer released on Cinco de Mayo which got me amped, but this new one makes me want to punch a cinder block just so I can feel like a man. It's like producer Robert Rodriquez and director Ethan Maniquis took all the things that zip through a male's brain on a daily basis and cramed them into one movie with Jeff Fahey. Not that I don't like Jeff Fahey, I just can't say he's on my mind that often. At least you'll never get me to admit it here… Machete rips theaters a new asshole Labor Day Weekend, September 3rd. Check out the trailer after the jump.

‘Little Fockers’ Trailer
Thursday, June 24 by

I chose the most suggestive picture I could snap for Universal's Little Fockers trailer, and it doesn't even get across the actual horror that unfolds in the scene. The Paul Weitz-directed threequel to the Meet the Parents blockbuster stars Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Teri Polo, Owen Wilson, Blythe Danner, Jessica Alba, Laura Dern, Harvey Keitel, Barbra Streisand, and Dustin Hoffman. You can practically smell the money wafting off the screen. There's even a turkey carving joke involving someone's thumb. I won't tell you who, but he plays the neurotic klutz in all of these films. And most of the other films he does. Little Fockers starts raking it in at the holiday box office December 22, 2010.

Charles Grodin Might Return to ‘Midnight Run’ Connecticut-Based Acting
Wednesday, June 2 by

Beethoven's 2nd robbed us of Charles Grodin, our nation's most cantankerous export back in 1994. A man can only abide a St. Bernard ruining his turkey dinner so many times before he decides to walk away from a thriving Hollywood career, and Grodin had reached his breaking point. Welp, I've got good news for all you Grodinheads out there. The man is open to acting again and he seems more curmudgeonly than ever."I’ve been led to believe by someone I won’t name that they will ask me and I will consider it,” says Grodin in regards to the planned Midnight Run sequel. Though he does have his conditions. “I just turned down the new Muppet movie… Jim Henson was dear to me but I’m not flying 6000 miles to Los Angeles to work one day." Well, you could also take in a Lakers game, B.A. Baracus. Just sayin'. It's reported that he won't take a role if it interferes with him being at his Connecticut home by nightfall. This reinforces my theory: Charles Grodin is a werewolf. I'm 17% certain of this. (Deadline)

Martin Scorsese Wants Pacino and De Niro For ‘Sinatra’ Biopic
Monday, May 24 by

Frank needed a piece of everything. It looks like Martin Scorsese could finally tap into the lucrative Really Old Italian demographic. While doing press rounds in India for Shutter Island, he discussed his long in the works Sinatra biopic, and mentioned some casting choices that would surely give sections of Brooklyn the Italian version of a nerd boner. The legendary director had this to say in unintelligible, staccato bursts:“I've had it in mind for a long time. Even the initial script is ready. I'm yet to spot the actor who can bring back Frank Sinatra alive on screen. My choice is Al Pacino, and Robert De Niro as Dean Martin.”Why stop there? Scorsese should go full-Italian by casting Joe Pesci as Joey Bishop, and have pizza dough inexplicably land on characters heads at random. (The Hindu)

De Niro to Grimace and Squint as ‘Lombardi’
Wednesday, March 10 by

Following in the footsteps of Brian Dennehy and Craig T. Nelson, Robert De Niro has signed on to play an iconic coach in the ESPN Films biopic Lombardi. Arguably the greatest coach in NFL history, Vince Lombardi led the Green Bay Packers to two Superbowl and five league championship wins. I should also mention dude could burp the entire alphabet… backwards. Doesn't sound too impressive to you, but in Wisconsin that is a godlike ability. The film, to be written by Eric Roth (Forrest Gump), will focus on the 8 years that Lombardi spent with the Packers, molding them into NFL champs. Very little time will be spent on his epic belching. (THR)
