‘Police Academy’ Reboot Will Be Helmed By A ‘Tosh.0′ Director

Police Academy, the Tosh.0 of movies, will logically be directed by Scott Zabielski, who has never directed a film, but has directed episodes of the web-based Comedy Central hit. You didn’t think that Tosh.0 episodes directed themselves, did you? Each episode requires fifteen minutes of careful study to ensure that there are no boom mics in frame, and that Daniel Tosh doesn’t have any corn or cilantro in his teeth.

Adding to the humor is the fact that Zabielski is a “reserve police officer” in West Hollywood, meaning he probably tells people to cover up during Pride Week, and may or may not be the guy that gives my friends parking tickets when they come over to visit.

What else is known about the reboot, which has been looming over us like a blimp filled with cow shit since it was announced in 2010?

It will stick to the formula of ragtag civilians who become cops, and will almost certainly consist of a collection of bizarre scenes that can be played in any order without affecting the story one iota. According to a producer, it will also “probably retain the wonderful theme music.”

Can we just assume that McLovin has already been cast in this?

Steve Guttenberg Is Just Now Receiving A Star On The Walk Of Fame

Don’t ever say that the people who bestow stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame don’t take their time. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the group that wields the star-granting power, has decided, 20 years after Steve Guttenberg’s last relevant role (unless you count his appearance in Party Down), that he should be immortalized with the 2,455th star on the street.

The fact that the star for the actor from Police Academy and Cocoon is going right in front of the Police Activities League at 6411 Hollywood Blvd is even more awesome. The ceremony starts at 11:30 AM today, so if you’re available, or if you’re a relative of Steve Guttenberg, you might want to find your way down there and shake Mahoney’s hand, if not for his film work, then for his charity, the Guttenberg House, which gives at-risk foster children a place to live when they turn 18 and must leave foster care.

“Who made Steve Guttenberg a star? We do. We do.”

Michael Winslow From ‘Police Academy’ Is Still Making Really Amazing Noises With His Mouth

It’s easy to make fun of this Michael Winslow because of his involvement in Police Academy and those pretty stupid Geico commercials, but all that stops now. This is very impressive. I have seen this guy recreate pretty much every sound imaginable, but I’ve never seen him do voices. And I didn’t know he could do Robert Plant.

It’s a testament to Winslow, appearing here on the Norwegian show Senkveld med Thomas og Harald, that I can’t really tell what sounds he is making and which ones he isn’t. The whole thing just confuses and amazes me, which is pretty much the point.

I played guitar for years and couldn’t get close to replicating those sounds. Maybe I should just try to sound like Michael Winslow, though I’d probably just end up vomiting and sneezing all over myself.

Like I always do.

As nativist and immigrant gangs fight for control of the city’s Five Points slum, political forces beyond their control come to a head. And by “come to a head,” I mean mobs of marauding rioters outraged over the recently enacted draft bring the city to its knees. While the incident might have made for one of the darker chapters in U.S. history, it also made for one hell of a movie.

New Line Wants New Recruits for ‘Police Academy’ Reboot

We already know that Steve Guttenberg feels another Police Academy would be good for the world. The healing power of nut shots and superglue pranks should not be underestimated. But do we really need another sequel? Or a reboot for that matter?? New Line Cinema and Warner Bros think so.

The studios announced that they will be returning to the series with an all-new relaunch of the series. Though no writer or director are attached at this time, produce Paul Maslansky wants to start with a new cast. This news will make sound effects maestro and series star Michael Winslow cry like a baby. And I don’t mean that he will imitate the sound a crying baby makes. The man has bills! (THR)
