Obviously, she’s not the only one to take it all off in the hopes of gaining notoriety (it’s actually how Playboy has managed to keep it going all these years), nor is she the only one to wait too long. Here are seven other actresses who decided to pose for Playboy far too late into their attractiveness. Lindsay Lohan, this is your future.

Teri Polo

Teri Polo made the weird decision to parlay her Meet the Parents fame into a spread in Playboy. She was 36 years old at the time, which means she was about eighteen years late. This move didn’t really propel her into more stardom as her subsequent roles have mainly been guest appearances on CSI: Miami and The Ghost Whisperer.

Lisa Rinna

Lisa Rinna decided to return to familiar surroundings after Dancing With the Stars made her relevant again. She originally posed for Playboy while pregnant (gee… thanks, Lisa) when her stint on Melrose Place came to an end. Then again in 2006 at the age of 46 (gee… thanks, Lisa).

In the end, The Playboy Club has proved to be more trouble than it was worth for NBC, having caused tension from its racy content in the Mormon market of Salt Lake City, specifically, and with the uptight folks at the Parents Television Council generally. Considering the show only lasted two weeks, NBC is probably kicking themselves for forfeiting goodwill with both affiliates and lobbyists only to see their show die on the vine.

However, all is not lost. We can still look back at The Playboy Club in fondness with our gallery featuring Amber Heard and…all those other fine, fine actresses.

Enjoy it. It’s all we have left.

But if the prospect of nipples being broadcast all across America’s golden shores makes you a little nervous, don’t worry – Some are speculating that this is probably for some kind of DVD marketing gimmick, where you can buy the first season of “Playboy” with all the boobs shoved back in, “as God intended,” they might say. On the other hand, given NBC’s recent pledge to push the envelope, it’s possible we’ll be getting some side-boob action at the very least. Fingers crossed! (via Variety)

Brian Grazer and his weird hair will be serving as executive producer along with Francie Calfo and Chad Hodge, who also wrote the pilot. What started off sounding like a disposable Friday or Saturday-night drama has been given a dash of legitimacy by Heard’s interest, which could expand the audience base to from just nostalgic perverts to nostalgic perverts AND horny teenagers. Way to go, NBC marketing!

Heard has recently made a name for herself, having wrapped on John Carpenter‘s The Ward and Nicholas Cage‘s Drive Angry 3D, so this move could prove beneficial for both the show and the actress in expanding their appeal. That said, the fact that this concept isn’t going to be airing on pay cable makes me so mad that I want to chuck my laptop out the window. (Variety)

On Playboy‘s Twitter account, they recently asked their followers to identify the blonde lady stradling that “cool,” speedo-wearing dude’s leg in this photo from 1999. The correct answer is Sterling Cooper secretary Christina Hendricks. It’s hard to tell without her trademark red hair and a hallway for her to strut down while men whistle.

Now, on the one hand, here’s super-hot early Christina Hendricks in Playboy. On the other hand, that clown is seriously freaking me out. I can laugh at juggalos, cause they take the scary clown schtick to a ludicrous extreme with their magnet raps. Plus, their beverage of choice is “Faygo,” which isn’t exactly a tough sounding drink. However, this clown is right out of Stephen King’s It, so I don’t care how much he loves to party, Christina and I are not sending him an evite! Isn’t that right, Christina?

Because you can never have enough Tron-related nudity, Playboy has decided to capitalize on Tron: Legacy‘s marketing push with their own Tron-inspired pictorial. Since they were unable to get Olivia Wilde or Beau Garrett to strip off, they brought in models/spell-check nightmares Irina Voronina and Sasckya Porto to put neon on their nipples. Hard to believe they couldn’t get Serinda Swan though. Be honest, Playboy. Did you even try? Check out the NSFW stuff at Playboy.

Playboy TV is set to have a good laugh at the expense of the lonely masturbators who make up their audience with the roll out of TV for 2, a new line of programing aimed at couples.

The first new TV for 2 show is Brooklyn Kinda Love, a docu-reality series from producers Joe and Harry Gantz (Taxicab Confessions), which is set to premiere on January 15. It follows the intricacies of four real couples’ relationships. Other new unscripted shows for the new format include Swing, featuring monogamous as they venture into alternative lifestyles guided by a sex therapist, and Playboy’s Sextreme Makeover, featuring couples  who receive intimacy advice from experts.

In order to avoid waking mother, most viewers will be watching with the audio off. This makes it difficult to say whether they will notice the ‘couple friendly’ intent of the programs. After all, these are the same people who haven’t yet noticed that boobies are free on the Internet. (Deadline)

Playboy and Quentin Tarantino have teamed up to create a comic strip adaptation of a scene from Inglourious Basterds with reports that the director hand-picked and edited the piece. Here’s the scene in the director’s own words, "Okay, so. The Basterds come upon this Nazi and he’s like this real bad Von Trapp-hating motherf&*%er, y’know? So. And then Brad Pitt’s all like, ‘Listen David Hasslehoff. I’s Aldo Raines and I didn’t come all the way to Germany for the strudel. We’s in the Natzi-killin’ business and we’s here for your scalp. Today the hills ain’t alive with the sound of music, Colonel Clink-looking motherf%$^ker. They’s alive with the sound of killin’.’ So. Y’know?
