If I’ve had one criticism with filmmaking of late, it’s that you never see characters go the bathroom. Seriously, you think Ethan Hunt can dangle off the world’s tallest building without essing his underpees? I doubt it, considering the amount of running around he does. I mean, he’s well-trained, but not that well-trained.

The guys at FilmDunk/Frotcast also take issue with that decided lack of realism, and so a fan has heard their call and cut together this trailer for Warhorsey, the horse that poops. It’s a more realistic approach to War Horse and solves the issue of what happens after Joey eats all that hay. Too bad that the original release didn’t handle this subject matter. Would have swept the BAFTAs, I bet. Now this is more like it. Now get to work on a Ghost Protocol recut with a turd streaking down glass. (FilmDrunk)

In honor of this week’s release of Quentin Tarantino‘s classic Pulp Fiction on Blu-ray, Screen Junkies has taken a look back at the most noteworthy Pulp Fiction parodies from the past 17 years. From “Saturday Night Live” to “Community” to ”House M.D.” and beyond, Pulp Fiction has been referenced and spoofed in every way imaginable. With that in mind, let’s explore the lighter side of a film that features murder, overdosing, and forced sodomy.

Spaced

I have yet to immerse myself into the U.K. series Spaced, but I understand the series featured spoofs of many different films and television shows. This one, an homage to the final showdown between Butch and Vincent, is pretty solid. It also features Nick Frost, who ruled in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, and can make me laugh pretty much by standing still.

Community

NBC’s excellent sitcom “Community” has parodied everything from Predator to Goodfellas to Space Camp. Last season’s episode, “Critical Film Studies,” devoted itself to Pulp Fiction, and really captured the deep love that the film’s fans have for it. Bonus point: Britta looked super hot in her Mia Wallace costume.

Films like Boys Don’t Cry, Million Dollar Baby, and even GI Jane have turned gender conventions on their head by introducing female characters in roles historically played by males. Some say they’ve gone to far. I say “balderdash.” Yup. “Balderdash.”

Some of the most iconic movies of the past century become wildly exotic and more compelling when the actual genders are swapped.

You probably want an example. Here are 15…

Cowboys & Aliens merges the guns and grit of a western with the high-tech special effects of a sci-fi adventure. By combining the two, the film attempts to breathe new life into two genres that have been exploited in every conceivable way. Whether it will be successful remains to be seen, but regardless, it’s only a matter of time before Hollywood tries its hand at another genre bending mashup. Lately, there’s been a lot of talk about the Broadway premiere of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark as well as the upcomin Spider-Man reboot, The Amazing Spider-Man. We’re not big into non-South Park related musicals, and the reboot doesn’t come out until 2012. But rather than sit around “slinging webs” while I wait, I’ve compiled 20 of the best pictures from the Spider-Man Meme, which grew out of still taken from the 1960’s Spider-Man cartoon. All and all, I think this meme is a vast improvement over the original series, and to be honest, it’s probably more entertaining than Spider-Man 3. Enjoy.

There’s even a “Curb Your Enthusiasm” Porn parody, and having only seen the cover, I can tell you it’s pretty gruesome. I don’t know if there’s anything inherently sexy about “The Cosby Show” or “Star Trek,” but you can get hardcore tributes to both. Now, coming in April, Vivid Entertainment brings you Scream: A XXX Parody. It appears to be a pretty straight ahead send up of the original film, complete with similar deaths (and added penetration, of course). The “film” was directed by Eli Cross, and stars Lily LaBeau, Zoe Voss, Sarah Shevon, Scarlett Fay, Jesse Andrews, Angelica Lane, Evan Stone, James Deen, Rocco Reed, Jack and Ron Jeremy.” It’s out on DVD April 15, 2011, so you can file your taxes on the last possible date and spend your refund money on porn in the same day. The final chapter in the ongoing”Family Guy” spoof of the original Star Wars Trilogy is finally here. “It’s a Trap” parodies Return of the Jedi, the third installment of the original films. Han (Peter), Luke (Chris) and all your old favorites are back, as well as some new faces including Jabba the Hut (Joe), the Sarlacc Pit (Meg) and Osama bin Laden.

Aside from the regular “Family Guy” characters, the spoof also features a whole host of characters from”The Cleveland Show” and “American Dad.” If that’s not enough to pique your interest, there are cannibalistic Ewoks.
