‘The Lorax’ Is Brainwashing Our Kids Says Fox News

Tim & Eric aren’t the only ones trying to get people not to go see The Lorax. Fox News cuckoo bird Lou Dobbs sat in front of a television camera and made the accusation that The Lorax is part of a conspiracy between Hollywood and President Obama to brainwash our children. Dobbs, a grown man who gets paid for what he does, asserts that The Lorax and a film called The Secret World of Arrietty were created to “indoctrinate” children into supporting pro-environmental causes and the Occupy movements.

Dobbs claims the liberal media is ignoring the secret messages of these films that are “plainly demonizing the so-called ’1 percent’ and espousing the virtue of green-energy policies, come what may.” That’s a pretty obtuse way of seeing things. These films, like many others, are simply about likable characters standing up to total dickheads. Yes, The Lorax does deal with characters fighting off deforestation but so did Ferngully and Avatar and Woody Woodpecker. Another kids film recently maligned by Fox News was The Muppets also took a stance against greed.

Since Lou Dobbs (who likely has gardeners and landscapers at his spacious mansion which he didn’t lose when the economy crumbled) hates the environment so much, can we move him out to the desert?

5 Groups Adam Carolla Has Offended Besides OWS

Adam Carolla, host of the The Adam Carolla Show podcast, is getting some attention after sharing his thoughts about the Occupy Wall Street movement. The epic, profanity-filled rant lambasts the protesters and casts a light on a new problem that Carolla has noticed America is facing.

“There’s something that’s come up in this country that didn’t used to exist. And that’s envy. We’re now dealing with the first wave of participation-trophy, empowered, I feel so good about myself, everybody’s a winner, there’s no losers … that’s who we’re dealing with now.”

Carolla is no stranger to controversy though. His penchant for making off-color, uninformed, blanket generalizations have angered several groups. Can you really even get upset at him though? Everyone knows that curly haired people are stupid.

I’ve assembled a list of people and organizations that he has offended through his career, and they are quite diverse. Dude had better hope he never sits next to a gay person while traveling to Hawaii by way of the Philippines.

Philippines

Adam Carolla must have lost money on Manny Pacquiao or something. On a 2010 episode of his podcast, he said that Pacquiao is illiterate, brain damaged, and that he prays to chicken bones. He then described the island nation of the Philippines where Pacman makes his home. “They got this and sex tours, that’s all they have over there. Get your shit together Philippines. Jesus Christ. I mean, again, it’s fine to be proud of your countrymen. But that’s it? That’s all you got?”

Awesomely, he received death threat. The President of the Philippines even responded. Carolla apologized with the defense that his comments were made in jest. Get your shit together Philippines. Can’t you take a joke?

GLAAD

Carolla doesn’t have too many friends over at GLAAD after making harsh statements about the LGBT community. He wondered aloud when we started caring about transgendered people, in addition to stating that heterosexual couples make better parents. He later responded with, “I’m sorry my comments were hurtful. I’m a comedian, not a politician.” GLAAD criticized this apology as being empty. This is just like when watermelon farmers didn’t accept Gallagher’s apology.

Hawaiians

Carolla’s syndicated radio show, Loveline, lost affiliates in Hawaii after he made comments about the Aloha State. he alleged that Hawaiians are among “the dumbest people we have.” I’m not taking sides here, but if he’s right it explains why they like Spam so much.

Triumph The Insult Comic Dog Makes Wall Street His Bitch

Take one look at the protesters in New York, and it becomes immediately clear that anyone, and I do mean anyone (crazies, hippies, rapists, Russell Brand) can “occupy” Wall Street. But it takes a very special person to make Wall Street his bitch. In fact, it takes a dog. Triumph, the Insult comic Dog, to be specific.

On last night’s Conan, which has been filming in New York all week, the mean-spirited mutt took to the streets, mocking the vast array of weirdos he found camped out in the financial district. But he also took time to insult the bankers and stock brokers who work in the area. At one point, a giant inflatable Triumph was used to bang the iconic Charging Bull statue from behind (a.k.a. Doggie Style), a symbolic gesture that’s sure to resonate with many Americans as well as the hoards of confused Japanese tourists randomly passing by.
