Darren Aronofsky would like you to see his new film, Black Swan, as a companion to his previous Oscar nominated The Wrestler. Maybe they’ll show as a double feature. Black Swan is about a ballet dancer (Natalie Portman) losing her grip with reality, and The Wrestler was about a steroid monster trying to make up with his daughter.
Between scissoring Mila Kunis in Black Swan and getting blazed with Danny McBride in Your Highness, Natalie Portman is all grows up and showing her wild side. That trend is slated to continue.
Christopher Nolan is getting actresses lined up in a pretty little row for The Dark Knight Rises casting. Doesn’t sound like Charlize and Vera are in the mix anymore, unless this is some kind of elaborate rouse, and if that’s the case, Nolan **shakes angry fist**
Behold, the trailer for Ivan Reitman’s No Strings Attached, a film about a couple that tries to have a purely sexual relationship without falling in love. After watching it, I realized that life is funny. One minute you’re directing some of the greatest comedies of all time, and the next you’re directing an Ashton Kutcher movie based on an old episode of “Seinfeld.”
Black Swan is some classic Darren Aronofsky crazy. If you missed the high style of Requiem for a Dream or the abstract interpretive level of The Fountain, they’re back. Yet it’s also set in a physical world like The Wrestler, so maybe I can work Pi into this comparison somehow too.
Damon Lindelof has handed in his new draft of the screenplay for Ridley Scott's Alien prequel and the execs at 20th Century Fox have responded: "A+++ will do business with again." It's said that the script is successful on both a creative and budgetary level, and we don't know much more beyond that.
What we do know is that the action takes place 35 years before Ridley Scott's original and follows a female Space Marine General. The studio and director have named Natalie Portman as their top-pick for the role, with Noomi Rapace selected as an alternate. Other names that have been mentioned are Gemma Arterton and Carey Mulligan (who just screams Marine general). And beyond that, nobody knows nothing. People run around and get eaten, I guess. Man, Alfonso Cuaron is having a bitch of a time finding someone to star in his Gravity movie. Angelina passed on it twice, Scarlett Johannson and Blake Lively were rumored to be in contention, and then it was announced that Natalie Portman was in talks for the role. Well, she passed. Now Universal is trying their damndest to woo Sandra Bullock for the part. If you ask me, Bullock should pass as well. She doesn't need to be caught in the center of a widely-publicized story about how she was second banana to a few younger women. That's so last year.
If Bullock does indeed pass, they should just go with Olivia Munn. She's already got the helmet and everything.
"Back off, zombies!"
David O. Russell is removing himself from Pride and Prejudice and Zombies in favor of working with another constantly hungry creature — Vince Vaughn. Natalie Portman couldn't work out her schedule to align with O. Russell's, and now he needs to hop on Old St. Louis.
But it looks like she won't be the only starlet who won't have the opportunity to be berated by the nutbar director. Scarlett Johansson had to drop out of Old St. Louis due to her own scheduling conflicts. We'll keep you posted when the search for a new Pride and Prejudice and Zombies director begins, but we feel that the gig should go to Troma's Lloyd Kaufman. He pretty much invented and mastered that genre as it is. (NY Mag)
Hey, do you guys wanna see a sequel to The Professional? Well, too bads. It's scripted and good to go and Natalie Portman wants it to happen (although she's refused to read it), but it's just one of those things that will probably never come together. The obstacle here is Luc Besson. Portman will only take part in the sequel if the semi-retired director steps behind the lens, but he only seems interested in crapping out more Transporter films.
To further impede production, Columbiana director and "Ben 10" villian Olivier Megaton says that the company who holds the rights has no interest in a sequel. Which causes me to question, why do they hate awesome? (MTV)
Alfonso Cuaron and Warner Bros have had a hard time finding a leading lady to anchor Gravity after Angelina Jolie has declared herself anti-Gravity twice. A slew of actresses including Rebecca Hall, Naomi Watts, Sandra Bullock, Marion Cottilard, Blake Lively, Sienna Miller, Abbie Cornish, Scarlett Johannson, Olivia Wilde, and Carey Mulligan have been approached for the role, but none have agreed to float at zero G's in a room full of Teamsters. Now, there's news that Natalie Portman may be buying a box of Dramamine.
A firm offer has gone out to the actress after early buzz about Black Swan has her on track for an Oscar. The belief is that if she can handle that challenging role, she's more than capable of carrying the unofficial Lost In Space sequel. (THR)
I'll never have to Photoshop them kissing again.
I'd be lying if I didn't say that reporting on Darren Aronosky's Black Swan hasn't been a rocky road. First, we were promised girl-on-girl between Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis. Then, we were told no Natalie boobs. Then we saw some freaky pics. And now we have video of the stars kissing and touching one another's naughty bits. This marks the first time I've ever been turned on by something Kafkaesque. I guess there's a film trailer attached to that footage too. If you're into that kind of thing.
If you're still reading, the trailer is after the jump…
Darren Aronofsky will open the Venice International Film Festival with his pyschological thriller Black Swan. USA Today has a first look at the film and it looks like Aronofsky didn't hold back. The visual style he's achieved in these few snapshots are elegant, mysterious, and foreboding. Natalie Portman stars as a stressed-out ballerina whose life takes odd turns after she is cast as the lead in Swan Lake.
There's a few more pictures after the jump. Though the one of Mila and Natalie seems tame. I'd much rather see other pictures of them. If you know what I'm sayin'. **suggestively bumps two doughnuts together, gets ejected from Tim Horton's**
HOT BALLERINAS AFTER THE JUMP…
"Entertainment Tonight" visited the set of Marvel's Thor and got some facetime with Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman as they flirt up a storm. It's like seriously, dude. You and your c-blocking camera crew should get out of there and give those two some privacy. On second thought, leave the camera. As far as "ET" videos go, this one's kind of hard-hitting. It even shows some restraint (it takes them a full three minutes and nineteen seconds to discuss Chris Hemsworth's workout regimine). In addition; we get a glimpse of Sir Anthony Hopkins as Odin, and Hemsworth fesses up to his "Dancing With The Stars" roots. Really? He was on "Dancing With The Stars?" Suddenly this Kim Kardashian as Tomb Raider rumor doesn't sound so far-fetched.Check it out after the jump…
We've held off reporting about Friends With Benefits up until now because the thought of Ashton Kutcher in a no-strings-attached sexual relationship with Natalie Portman makes our parts wither. Sadly, we've been put into a position where we would be remiss if we continued the embargo.Ivan Reitman has begun to wisely throw hottie after hottie at the project, and today there's news that the ridiculously sexy Lake Bell has joined the cast as Kutcher's co-worker. Olivia Thirlby and Greta Gerwig have also recently become attached. Great. Ashton Kutcher surrounded by hot women. Is this a movie-version of those camera commercials he's been doing? (Variety)
Just saying.Adventureland director and Turtle Club member Greg Mottola has been hired to write (and presumably direct) Paramount's adaptation of the overly-titled Important Artifacts and Personal Property From the Collection of Lenore Doolan and Harold Morris, Including Books, Street Fashion and Jewelry. Mottola will turn the fictional estate auction catalogue from a dissolved relationship into a romantic comedy that has Brad Pitt and Natalie Portman attached to star. Jennifer Aniston is said to be working on a similar project, starring herself and a life-sized Brad Pitt Hairdoll. (THR)
A few years ago Natalie Portman started a production company named Handsomecharlie Films in order to develop projects that "better suited her tastes." Apparantly one of those tastes is the sweeeeet sticky icky.In addition to Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Portman is now developing a stoner comedy called Best Buds about two female friends who take a road trip to their friend's wedding in order to save her by bringing her weed. It's said to be like Half Baked or Harold and Kumar except in this one the protagonists know what it's like to touch boobs. Between this project and Your Highness with Danny McBride, Portman could emerge as High Times Magazine's "Actress of the Year." Though it's an honor just to be nominated. (Pajiba)
You can leave your bottle of Jergen's at home when you go to see The Black Swan, fellas. The hot, angry, lesbian, ballerina sex that we previously reported would take place between Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis is going to be filmed with the aid of breast doubles. Portman tells UK Elle that she will never show her naughty bits on the big screen."I'm definitely not a prude about sex or nudity, I just don't want do something that will end up as a screen grab on a porn site so meanwhile I'm doing halfsies – I'm like, 'I'll show my butt but not my boobs',"I'm sure perverts the world over are saddened by this news but bear in mind that she is an actress, not an object. It's difficult for young women to always be taken seriously in Hollywood and I salute her convictions. I urge you perverts to as well. OH! GROSS GUYS!!! THAT'S NOT HOW YOU SALUTE!!! (UK Elle via The Playlist)
Earlier reports that Pride and Prejudice and Zombies would be a television miniseries seem to be nullified today. Variety reports that Natalie Portman is teaming up with Richard Kelly and Lionsgate to bring the project to the big screen. No word yet on when filming will begin. Portman is currently busy having angry sex with Mila Kunis in The Black Swan and then she has Kenneth Branagh's Thor after that. According to Variety:Portman will play feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet, who is distracted from her quest to eradicate the zombie menace by the arrival of the arrogant Mr. Darcy. Is this some kind of trick? Throwing zombies into classic literature so that I'll see it and maybe learn something?? Not gonna happen. **swigs from gasoline can** (Variety)
If you haven't seen Zach Galifianakis's FunnyOrDie show, Between Two Ferns, you've been missing the internet's best talk show, period. In the new episode, the hirsute star of the upcoming Vegas comedy The Hangover (also starring likely Green Lantern Bradley Cooper and The Office's Ed Helms) waxes idiotically while interviewing Natalie Portman, who does her best not to crack up. She's a trooper. Watch the video after the jump, and see Mr. Galifianakis threaten to tie a Yorkshire Terrier's penis in a knot.
