Michael Richards Is Apparently A Great Person To Have A Show On TV Land

Michael Richards better thank his lucky stars for TV Land, a cable channel that pretty much exists to give dubious vehicles to stars that have clearly seen better days.

Having broken down a few years back and dropped the n-bomb about a million times during a very bizarre and manic stand-up act, Richards lost favor (I guess) with whatever remaining fans he had. However, by appearing on Letterman, acting genuinely contrite, and knocking off all the racial slurs, he’s…BACK IN THE GAME!!!

Of course, that assumes that “the game” is a TV show called Giant Baby, starring Kirstie Alley and Rhea Perlman, ensuring that Giant Baby will be absolutely no one’s go-to show for masturbation fodder, gay or straight.

Richards will play a limo driver to Alley’s “giant baby” of a Broadway diva. Sadly, the title Giant Baby isn’t to be taken literally, though that would be such an amazing premise for a show. This is probably the last any of us will ever hear about the show again, but it’s nice to see that he can get past his screw-up and get work.

Even if that work is on TV Land with Kirstie Alley and Rhea Perlman.

7 Actors Overshadowed By Their Breakout Roles

It’s the dream of many actors to land that one breakout role, the role that puts them on everyone’s casting list and springboards them to bigger things. Not all are so lucky though. There are many who were only held back by the popular role they became associated with, and were never able to rise to any notoriety above it. Like me. I’ll never escape the label of World’s Greatest Lover. Damn that coffee mug.

Here are seven examples of actors who couldn’t surpass the earliest successes.

Dominic West

Though The Wire was filled with breakout performances, Dominic West stood head and shoulders above the rest as the deeply-flawed Jimmy McNulty. He was instantly a favorite with viewers (and the ladies), but he’ taken some dicey roles since. For instance, his role in Johnny English Reborn, The Lactating Automaton, and as Jigsaw in Punisher: War Zone. McNulty deserves better! Hopefully John Carter will hel break him out.

Michael Richards

Back in the heyday of Seinfeld, Michael Richards could call you any name he wanted and you’d be rolling on the floor laughing. Then the show ended and his much-hyped starring vehicles Trial and Error and The Michael Richards Show bombed hard. Fast-forward a few years to his infamous comedy club scandal, and his star has all but sunk. If only you guys had gone to see Trial and Error, he would have never been in that club or gotten in that mess.

ALF Does Coke, Drops ‘N-Bomb’ in Awesome Outtake Footage

And you thought ALF was just a lovable alien puppet. Turns out he’s actually a drug-crazed bigot.

In this insane outtake from the popular 80′s TV show, the puppet can be seen cursing, simulating coke use, and dropping racial slurs. Will this have the same affect on ALF’s career that it did for Mel Gibson and Michael Richards? Only time will tell.

In all fairness, ALF is actually mimicking a character with Tourettes Syndrome on another 80′s show, “L.A. Law.” He’s not just randomly dropping the “N-Bomb” (Click here to see the character in question). Someone tell Al Sharpton before he goes and takes a dump on ALF’s lawn. (Collider)
