Good news for fans of the decent actor.

I’ve been getting hundreds of emails a day, all with the same basic message: “More Richard Gere news!” With that in mind, here’s the latest on the Richard Gere drama The Double, the debut feature from Michael Brandt: It’s been picked up by Image Entertainment, in advance of its premiere at Cannes. Here’s a plot synopsis, in case the involvement of Richard Gere isn’t enough:

“A retired CIA operative is paired with a young FBI agent to figure out who killed a senator. The clues indicate that he might have been a victim of a Soviet assassin.”

The Double also stars Topher Grace and Martin Sheen, neither of which are Richard Gere. So keep your eyes peeled, Gere fans! The Double will come to a theater near you, maybe.
