Doesn’t seem like that would be too challenging in theory, but I’ve learned long ago never to underestimate Matthew Modine. When the news hit that Matthew Modine was cast in Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises, it was assumed he’d just be playing some dude. After all, who better to play some dude than Matthew Modine, king of the dudes?

But now it’s being reported that his part is actually “a key villain.” More specifically, he’s playing a corrupt politician by the name of “Nixon.” That’s right, a corrupt politician named “Nixon.” It’s a bit lame and obvious, so part of me thinks this might be some kind of elaborate red herring or something. Or maybe he’s actually playing President Richard Nixon. That would be cool. (Showbiz 411)
