Mark Millar Finds ‘Nemesis’ Writer, Kicks Ass In The Adaptation Game

Mark Millar is quite good at writing ultra-violent graphic novels and selling them as feature films. His latest, Nemesis, about a billionaire who uses his money and influence for extreme evil, has found a potential director in Tony Scott, and a writer in Matthew Carnahan (State of Play, Lions For Lambs). The film should have an interesting journey from page to screen, as it features murdered cops, presidential bombings, and attacks on the Pentagon. And by interesting I mean dear-god-this-is-going-to-be-a-hard-sell-to-studios. I can only imagine what Sony would say, who removed images of the World Trade Center from Spiderman, and non-offensive images to boot. We can’t be sure what they’d have to say about a bomb being hurled at the president, but chances are they might request a “script polish.” (Slashfilm)
