Martin Starr And His Judgements To Join The ‘Community’ Faculty

The hit parade of Greendale profs for the 2011-2012 school year just keeps cranking ‘em out, with news today that Martin Starr will be joining the esteemed faculty of Community. Mr. Starr will be playing a poli-sci professor and model U.N. adviser for one episode, though Starr left the door open for a reprisal of his role later on this season. Starr will join Michael Kenneth Williams and John Goodman as guest scholars this season.

Starr has built up quite a following through his stints of brilliant-but-cancelled shows such as Party Down and Freaks and Geeks. He’s hitched his star to a new wagon with his appearances on Adult Swim‘s NTSF: SD: SUV, but with episodes clocking in at a scant 15 minutes (with a huge cast), he’s got plenty of capacity to bring his brand of smug impatience to other programs in need.

If this Community Model U.N. episode is anything like the Simpsons one, everyone’s gonna end up shipwrecked on an island with Abed on trial for stealing food. And I have no problem with that. (TV Line)

Please save the date for the marriage of very hot and also very hot. By that I mean nerd crushes Alison Brie and Lizzy Caplan are teaming up for the romantic comedy, Save The Date. In the film they’ll play sisters who like to smell one another’s hair and tickle each other and make their boobs touch and say my name directly into camera. If only.

They’ll actually play sisters with Brie settled in her life choices and Caplan feeling mor restless. Martin Starr (who “Party Down“ed with Caplan), Geoffrey Arend (who played Quirky Guy #1 in (500) Days Of Summer) and Mark Weber (?) also co-star. Arend will play a love interest for Caplan and Martin Starr will just play some dude as far as we know at this point. It’s likely his character is involved with Brie’s but that doesn’t mean it will prevent me from coming around with my seduction kit. I don’t care if dude put a ring on it or not. (Variety)

Sony Wants To Have ‘A Good Old Fashioned Orgy’

Get ready to see some of your comedy favorites in various levels of undress. Sony has picked up the invite to a good old fashioned orgy for a late summer release. As most fictional orgies do, the cast consists of weird looking guys and drop dead gorgeous women. Jason Sudeikis, Tyler Labine, Leslie Bibb, Will Forte, Lucy Punch, Lake Bell, Michelle Borth, Martin Starr, Nick Kroll, Lindsay Sloane, Don Johnson, and David Koechner will all be sharing bodily fluids in the film.

The story centers around “a close group of 30-somethings who spend every summer weekend throwing elaborate theme parties at their friend Eric’s (Sudeikis) family home in the Hamptons. When Eric’s dad decides to sell off their summer playground, the friends agree there is only one way to have the biggest and brashest send off party a good old fashioned orgy.”

Sounds like fun but there had better be ice-cream cake. (THR)
