For those of you who have been praying for another Ghostbusters sequel, you obviously need to pray more clearly. Unfortunately, it seems god misunderstood your pleas, and has mistakenly provided you with another Ghost Rider sequel. This is assuming that Nicolas Cage is telling the truth, and not simply tripping balls on shrooms he took with his cat.

On tonight’s episode of "The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson", Cage revealed he had just signed the deal to return to star in Ghost Rider 2.  The actor also confirmed that Neveldine/Taylor (Crank) will direct.

I’ve been told to be more positive when I write, so here goes nothing.

Considering the original Ghost Rider has a 25% favorable rating at Rotten Tomatoes, the sequel has nowhere to go but up.

Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the two directors behind the tweeked-out Crank films, are negotiating to stab their hypodermic needle of creativity into the heart of the Ghost Rider sequel, entitled Ghost Rider The Spirit of Vengeance. Nic Cage will return as Johnny Blaze, the stuntman with a serious dry scalp problem.

The film needs to go into production before November or Columbia loses the rights, so who better to take a chokehold on the project than the guys who directed two movies where speed is a major component. I can’t imagine the sequel to Ghost Rider could turn out any worse than the original. Neveldine and Taylor are basically getting permission to play with fire, and I fear not even the craft services table would be safe from their wrath. When Neveldine spots crafty serving up bananas foster across the stage, you know he’s gonna want to bathe in those flames. (THR)

The new trailer for Gamer, Neveldine & Taylor’s answer to Running Man, Death Race and The Matrix is out now.  The film stars Gerard Butler as a death row inmate named Kabel, who’s become an unwitting pawn in a multi-player simulation game called "Slayers," created by evil genius Michael C. Hall (TV’s Dexter).  We know where this is going, but Neveldine/Taylor always seem to find a way to increase the A.D.D. appeal in ways never thought possible.  The film also stars Amber Valetta, Ludacris, John Leguizmo and Terry Crews (The Expendables & Terminator Salvation).

Crank writing/directing duo Neveldine & Taylor’s next movie (shot prior to Crank: High Voltage) is a futuristic thriller called Gamer, and features everyone’s favorite Spartan Gerard Butler as a "star player" in a game called "Slayers," in which humans – like Butler – control other humans in online gaming environments.  Such a meta-actioner.  A metactioner.  I just coined it.  Send me money!!!

Royalties aside, I think the new interactive poster for the film is worth showing you guys.  You can move your mouse over Butler’s face and, instead of drawing a mustache like normal, you get to peel away layers to show the mastermind controlling him in the film.  Actually, he doesn’t look super authoritarian, so maybe he’s more of a middle managemind.
