Hall will be teaming up once again with “Dexter” creator James Manos Jr. for his directorial debut, Love, Scotch, and Death. Based on a shitty, shitty week in the writer-director’s life, the film was originally called The Slow And Complete Decompensation of Jim Manos. Then market testing revealed that title didn’t appeal to scotch drinkers.

Vera Farmiga will star opposite Hall as he plays a man who “after returning from a stressful vacation…discovers his parents have died of natural causes together in bed, which forces him to navigate his way past an unsympathetic funeral director, his bewildered children and manic wife, an eccentric priest and some over-sexed neighbors. There is also an arrest for assault and the death of his wife’s beloved dog.” Or as Gary Busey calls it, Kwanzaa. (Deadline)
