I think we now know how Louis C.K. chose to spend the $1 million he earned through self-distributing his last comedy special. He spent it on producing this promo. Seems kinda wasteful to me…

Anyway, Oh My God premieres Saturday, April 13th and the promo is awesome.

Despite somehow losing the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Comedy to Don Cheadle last night, it looks like Louis C.K. might get his shot at a film nomination before long. C.K. is in talks to join David O. Russell‘s untitled Abscam film, previously known as American Bullshit.

Russell’s favoritest performers Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper and Jeremy Renner have already been cast in the film about a con man who works with the FBI. C.K. will play an FBI agent. Richard Jenkins must be pissed.

Louis C.K. certainly has come a long way.

Fans of Louie now know the deep pang that Tom Petty so eloquently captured in “The Waiting.”

FX has placed the well-received sitcom on hiatus until May of 2014. But before you fly into bouts of rage toward the network, know that they are only honoring Louis C.K.‘s wishes. The comedian has total autonomy over the show and feels he needs that time to preserve any quality. Especially now that Fake Louie Episodes has called him out so well. Says C.K.:

“The last three seasons have been this surge of fun and work and stories and it’s been great, but I want the show to keep getting better,” Louis C.K. said in a conference call with reporters today. “That’s my goal, and I don’t want it to be making the donuts, I want it to be something that comes from somewhere important and stays funny. It’s a luxury I asked for … season four is my job right now, but I’m going to take a whole lot of time to turn it in.

“I want season four to go somewhere new, even if it’s only a slight shift.”

Like having his character be slightly balder and doughier, for instance.

But still, 2014 is a long time from now. A really long time. So many things can happen and change in that time. We could outgrow the tone of the show. Or the economy could take a dive, changing how we watch television. I’m not a betting man, but I wouldn’t bet on seeing Doug Stanhope return to guest star.
Louis C.K. Endorses Lena Dunham’s ‘Girls’

One for the ladies....

Either you love it or you hate it. But you probably hate it. Until now…

HBO’s Girls has slipped its tip into history by becoming the most divisive show on television in record time. There was public outcry about the lack of multiracial characters after the pilot episode aired. Then, after the second week’s viewing, the outcry shifted to, Hey, is this any good? Viewers fell into two camps with the smaller of which enjoying the show and singing its praises. Go right on ahead and add Louis CK to that lot.

As you see in the tweet above, Louis CK has shown public support to Lena Dunham and her show via his Twitter account. It’s a big pull in the constant tug of war over the quality of the comedic drama with many of the show’s supporters retweeting his post while show detractors are addressing CK directly in the debate with questions like, “Then why don’t you just marry it?!!”

I get the sense that this discussion will continue on for weeks to come. Raises a larger debate though about CK himself. That being, did he send this tweet from the computer where he “entertains” himself? Because, ewwwwwww.

The kid's disposition is closer to a T-1000 than Cousin Oliver.

Oftentimes a sitcom will add an adorable child to the proceedings in order to goose ratings or introduce some broader appeal to the show’s palette. As the above clip shows, this is definitely not the case for the next episode of Louie, airing this Thursday, September 1st, at 10:30 PM ET/PT on FX. This visit from a niece is unlikely to win over your mom (unless she’s already a Louie fan), since the kid’s disposition is closer to a T-1000 than Cousin Oliver.
