While the news that Sevigny will be playing a journalist in the film may first come across as disheartening, in my mind, everyone is having sex with everyone in this film, so go ahead and set your expectations to “nude,” possibly “while banging.”

The casting announcement comes just a day after Demi Moore dropped out, claiming she was “seeking professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health,” which is probably just PR-speak for “tending to a broken heart.”

It’s all good, though. The cast still boasts Peter Sarsgaard, Hank Azaria, Adam Brody, Bobby Cannavale, Chris Noth, Sharon Stone, Juno Temple, Debi Mazar, Wes Bentley, Romeo Brown, Robert Patrick, Eric Roberts. and James Franco .

“It’s going to be very risqué,” Patrick Muldoon, a producer at the film’s production company Eclectic Pictures, told the site.

He added that “Thematically, it’s talking about how abusive the porn industry was to Linda Lovelace. Yes, there’s a lot of nudity, but it’s a message movie about respecting women.”

The supporting cast seems to be something of a sausagefest, featuring Peter Sarsgaard, Sharon Stone, Juno Temple, Wes Bentley, Hank Azaria, Bobby Cannavale, Chris Noth, Robert Patrick, James Franco, Eric Roberts, Adam Brody and Demi Moore. Seyfried is stepping into the role of Linda Lovelace, which was left vacant by Hudson when she made the decision to destroy her body. Lovelace tells the tale of the famed Deep Throat star who was coaxed into the world of adult movie-making by her pornographer husband, Chuck Traynor. James Franco was attached to the part, but he was lost in the casting shuffle. Peter Sarsgaard is now in talks for the role. I hope he does it in his Green Lantern makeup. He’s already got the prerequisite moustache.

Wilde is considering taking the lead in one of two Linda Lovelace biopics currently in the works. “I’m being very careful about my next project since I’m now in a position where I can be really picky. It would be a tremendous honor. It’s such a cool role. She was a fascinating woman—with where she came from to Deep Throat to then working with Gloria Steinem and Nora Ephron. It’s really fascinating,” says the actress.

I can see why she would want to take on such a challenging role. But I’d also think she could easily get involved with a Nora Ephron project herself and sidestep simulated fellatio on James Franco. But, hey, to each their own. (E! Online)

“It’s a great role,” Hudson said. “It’s a very, very, very heavy script. She had an interesting life. I think the script is really interesting because it’s nonlinear in the way it’s written. It portrays sort of an outside perspective of what she is and then it sort of takes you through a journey of what really was happening.”

Can you just imagine an Oscar nominated A-list Hollywood actress watching Deep Throat as research? “As a real person, her life is quite controversial because you don’t really know when doing the research and looking into who she really was, she dealt with a lot of abuse and obviously a very difficult childhood which brought her into this world of pornography. But there is still that question of was she really being held at gunpoint to do this or was this really a choice of hers?”

Lovelace died in an automobile accident, but later in her life she was an outspoken activist. “She ended up doing a lot of feminist movement work with Gloria Steinem and stuff. It’s a really interesting role and I look forward to doing it.”

This is not to be confused with the Malin Akerman film Inferno, which is also about Lovelace. Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman (Howl) will direct a different version of the Linda Lovelace story, which chronicles her ups and down (as in the bobbing of her head) in the 1970s pornography business.

Poor Lindsay Lohan. Everyone knows she’s fallen on tough times, but now, it seems she can’t even find work as a porn star.

Lohan had landed the role of 70′s porn actress Linda Lovelace in Matthew Wilder’s Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story. But due to her ongoing legal troubles and drug problems, she has been dropped from the cast in favor of Malin Akerman. You know your career is in trouble when you’re too unreliable to play a 70′s porn star. But on the plus side, Malin Akerman, who you may remember as the chick wearing the skintight outfits in The Watchmen, is super hot. I guess that’s not much of a comfort to Lindsay, but it makes me feel better. (Deadline via Collider)

Lindsay Lohan is officially set to play 70s porn star icon/oral pleasure pioneer Linda Lovelace in the biopic Inferno. The film’s producer Walid Razaqi confirmed that Lohan secured the part, and that they’ll be an official announcement at the Cannes Film Festival. Razaqi stated, "For at least a year, the director and I have gone back and forth imagining how awesome of a performance she could give if she was in the movie." Please be more specific, Walid. Were you guys hangin’ down in the basement, passing the Sunny D and discussing Lohan’s depth and range as an actor, or did one of you casually hold up a banana and say, "I bet Lindsay Lohan could take all of this."

This isn’t the first racy project Lohan has taken on since she entered Phase 2 of career suicide. She attempted to get asses in the seats again by playing a stripper in I Know Who Killed Me, and she’ll appear topless in Machete just for the hay of it. Deep Throat seemed like a sensible next step.
