Hopefully he'll find a way to make it ridiculously expensive.

James Cameron announced to the New York Times that he’s retired from any non-Avatar filmmaking. Like several rappers before him, it was all bullshit. Consider today his unretirement from projects exclusive to the Avatar universe.

Cameron and Lightstorm Entertainment have picked up the rights to The Informationist, a novel by Taylor Stevens that has drawn comparisons to Girl With The Dragon Tattoo as well as the Jason Bourne series. Cameron’s intention is to shoot it after Avatar 3 and before the Avatar prequel. The story follows a girl in central Africa raised by gunners and mercenaries, who goes into the business of selling information. Which I was always lead to believe is free. Just dial 4-1-1. If anything, it costs a few cents.

Twentieth Century Fox and director James Cameron have chosen MBS Media Campus in Manhattan Beach to shoot the sequels to 'Avatar', the bazillion dollar-grossing, unofficial 'Pocahontas' remake.

Where will the next Avatar movies be shot? Ask one of those crazy Na’vi fans who paint themselves blue and they’ll answer, “in the wild forests of Pandora, of course.” The real answer is a motion capture facility in Manhattan Beach. Not nearly as mystical or hippie-ish, though I hear they have granola bars in the snack machines.

Twentieth Century Fox and director James Cameron have chosen MBS Media Campus in Manhattan Beach to shoot the sequels to Avatar, the bazillion dollar grossing, unofficial remake of Disney’s Pocahontas. The studio has 15 sound stages and 580,000-square-feet of studio and office space. Cameron’s production company, Lightstorm Entertainment (sounds like the name of a terrible mid-90s comic book company), is likely to move in as well. If Cameron gets his way, his studio and offices will be closer to his home in Santa Monica.

If you’re one of those crazy Avatar fans I discussed earlier, the MBS Media Campus address is 1600 Rosecrans Ave. A true Na’vi would camp out there until Avatar 2‘s release date in December 2014, followed by Avatar 3 in December 2015. Just don’t tell them Screen Junkies sent you.
