‘The Hunger Games’ Is Logically Doing A Mall Publicity Tour

In order to ensure that every single teenager and mall denizen in the world has reached 134% Hunger Games saturation, the cast will be touring around the malls of America. And, unsurprisingly, the Mall of America. The attendees will undoubtedly be oblivious to the fact that the Hunger Games exist in the near future solely to subdue the likes of them. Oh well, IT’S KATNISS, YOU GUYS!!!!

Select cast members will be on hand to answer such questions as:

“How much fun did you guys have working on set?”

and

“I can’t believe that you guys are in The Hunger Games movie!”

That last one wasn’t a question, but it will be exclaimed several times.

Skip The Super Bowl Preshow And Watch ‘The Hunger Games’ Trailer Now

Up until this point we’ve seen very little of the actual games featured in The Hunger Games. That all changes with this second trailer set to premiere during the Super Bowl preshow this Sunday. But because no one really pays much attention to that, it’s here early online for us all to obsess over.

Here we see the softer side of the Girl On Fire as she interacts with her loved ones back in the Seam, and less of the girl who shoots other kids in the head with arrows. Which isn’t to say we don’t see more of the Games. There are a few glimpses here and there, as well as an emphasis on the Mockingjay pin. No tracker jackers to share just yet. But let’s assume they’ll be fully rendered by the time the film opens on March 23rd.

As part of the effort to cast the nearly 2 million characters in the Hunger Games, Donald Sutherland has generously offered his efforts to the project. And he’s not just playing some rube, either – he’s none other than President Snow. Here’s a brief description of the character:

“Snow is the autocratic ruler of Panem who uses the violent Hunger Games as a way to maintain control”

The Hunger Games is hungry… for actors. Not just ones you’ve never heard of, like Liam Hemsworth and Dayo Okeniyi, but also a few celebrities to compete for screen time with the teenage dystopian wastelanders. John C. Reilly‘s name has been bandied about, and now we’ve got word a few more big names have been offered roles:

According to new rumors, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz and Stanley Tucci have been OK’d for Hunger Gaming. In keeping with the tradition of naming everyone funny, Harrelson’s character would be Seneca Crane, the Head Gamemaker. He’d be like the Milton-Bradley of games where people die. Actually, that job sounds pretty badass. We don’t know yet who the other actors would portray.

Directed by Gary Ross, the film stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson. (Vulture)

More news from the Berlin Film Festival, which usually generates a lot of news about producers picking up scripts to be made into movies. And, as expected, we have a new bit of news that features America’s Thespian Lenny Kravitz, some guy named Mickey Rourke, and Rosario Dawson. They have all 3 signed on to star in The Blind Bastard Club, which is about a group of sightless individuals “who live life on the edge… going to the shooting range, jumping out of planes, getting into fights in bars, and pretending they’re not blind.” This kind of reminds me of what me and my buddies used to do on the weekends – we’d go to bars and pretend TO be blind. Turns out that chicks are really into blind guys until they find out they’re faking it.

The Blind Bastard Club is set to begin filming in Brazil, where Mr. Kravitz is apparently a huge star (the world’s funny sometimes, huh?), and will be directed by Ash Baron-Cohen, cousin of the Borat guy. (via The Playlist)
