<description><![CDATA[Further evidence that LeBron is 100% incapable of being his own man. ]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>LeBron&#8217;s tweet &#8220;Wish I could do <em><a href="https://twitter.com/KingJames/statuses/239658423413768192" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Space Jam 2</a></em>!&#8221; isn&#8217;t exactly an edict to Warner Bros, but it&#8217;s probably enough to get some greasy executive calling around, checking to see if Chris Bosh reads well to test audiences.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t wish LeBron could do <em>Space Jam 2</em>. I wish LeBron would stop trouncing and flopping around like an Italian soccer player and step up.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m thinking neither of us will get what we want.</p>
<p><em>Space Jam</em> was a film that captured two very ephemeral phenomena: mainstream America&#8217;s dumb fascination with <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/looney-tunes-303/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>Looney Tunes</a> characters and a fever pitch of NBA superstardom that Nike had pretty much hand-delivered to the masses. Both those things are relics of the past, so <em>Space Jam 2</em> sounds pretty damn weird in this day and age.</p>
<p>Instead of Barkley and Larry Bird, we would get&#8230;DWIGHT HOWARD and DERRICK ROSE! Or maybe JEREMY LIN and JOE JOHNSON. Or they could just do the obvious thing here and put accused rapist Kobe Bryant in the forefront of a family film.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/movie-lists/game-change-casting-predictions/" target="_blank">Michelle Obama</a> got <a href="http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/movie-news/jason-bateman-booed-for-cutting-iphone-line/" target="_blank">booed</a> at the NASCAR Sprint Cup finale in Florida this weekend. Also, the sky is blue and puppies are adorable. I don’t know why anyone would think she WOULDN’T get booed at a NASCAR event. I mean, she’s the black wife of a democrat president. </p>
<p><iframe width="450" height="335" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/NHbgHWIR5kc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>Well, when you’re in the public eye for any reason, you have to expect a little bit of hate. While it’s the cost of doing business, there are still a few occasions when the booing catches <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/celebs/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>celebs</a> off guard and just makes them want to jump under all the covers and have a good cry while Mazzy Star plays in the background. Here are a few examples.</p>
<h4>LeBron James</h4>
<p><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Cq6t5aa5AGo" frameborder="0" width="480" height="<a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/360-845/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>360</a>&#8220;></iframe></p>
<p>Let’s kick things off with a remarkably boo-worthy celebrity. Before he left Cleveland, he was the savior of a city, and the face of a sport. Then, after “The Decision” and his unceremonious move to Miami, he was an ingrate who sold out his team to play on the beach with the best, rather than prove himself against them.</p>
<p>Cleveland fans have a pretty long memory, so don’t expect this phenomenon to stop any time soon. I watched this game and the booing picked up every time he touched the ball. The good news is that LeBron will have plenty of time to get used to it, as his betrayal and his inability to impact a game when located way up Dwyane Wade’s ass ensures he will be booed for years to come.</p>
<p>Also, I don’t know what dialect of Spanish that is, but it’s completely weird.</p>
<h4>Nickelback</h4>
<p><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/P7F3O6WYfHQ" frameborder="0" width="480" height="360"></iframe></p>
<p>This is a very anticlimactic video, but I had to include it because it wouldn’t be a list about people voicing their hatred unless it included Nickelback. Well, I take great pains to avoid generalizations, but THE PORTUGESE HATE NICKELBACK!</p>
<p>So much so that they actually lob rocks at Chad Kroeger, who nonchalantly bids the audience adieu so as not to be, you know, killed by flying rocks.</p>
<p>How the hell did they wind up like this?</p>

<title>LeBron James Pushes Back &#8216;Ballers&#8217; To Do Some Damage Control, Practice Basketball</title>

<description><![CDATA[Apparently, starring in a hokey basketball comedy is not LeBron's highest priority right now. Weird. ]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It looks like, after dropping the title game to the <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/dallas/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>Dallas</a> Mavericks on Sunday, <a href="http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/movie-news/more-than-a-game-with-lebron-james-poster-photo-release-date/" target="_blank">LeBron James</a> has enough on his plate with just basketball that his feature debut as a star of <em>Ballers (</em>produced by <a href="http://www.screenjunkies.com/tv/tv-news/ron-howard-and-brian-grazer-to-make-great-escape/" target="_blank">Brian Grazer</a><em>)</em> won&#8217;t be shooting this summer.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s&#8230;too bad?</p>
<p>He has been attached to star in the sports comedy since 2009, but postponed it from last summer so he could make his much-maligned &#8220;decision&#8221; about his free agency destination. He probably should have just done the movie in hindsight. Criticism over his finals performance is just the latest volley of attacks on LeBron since his departure from Cleveland last summer.</p>
<p>Is there any chance that this film can help restore his popularity? Very unlikely. Is there any chance that if he were to participate in this film this summer rather than work on his high-post game that he would be crucified? It&#8217;s guaranteed. I have to imagine that the producers of the film would probably see King James&#8217; participation here as more of a liability than an asset right now, anyway.</p>
<p>So all he has to do is completely rebuild his reputation and legacy, then we get the basketball comedy.</p>
<p>Fans of <em>Ballers</em>: Don&#8217;t hold your breath.</p>
