If You Only Watch One Episode Of ‘Eastbound & Down’ This Season, Make It Sunday’s

I’m a big fan of Eastbound & Down, and, for better or worse, I get paid to talk about television for a living. So when I tell you that this week’s episode of Eastbound & Down contains what might be the strangest ten minutes of television I’ve ever witnessed, please understand that I am not using hyperbole.

Will Ferrell returns as car dealer Ashley Schaeffer who, in Kenny’s absence, is forcing Stevie Janowski to toil at a Kia dealership. This doesn’t sit well with Kenny, who wants to enlist Stevie’s help in raising a kid. I can’t go into great detail about what transpires, but I can say that it involves cannons, transvestites, and a lot of confused Korean businessmen.

So do yourself a favor and skip the Oscars in favor of Eastbound & Down, because unless Billy Crystal smacks someone’s genitals with a spoon, the Oscars won’t compare. Watching Kenny over at Buzzer Beat would probably be even better, since you’d surely watch some of the other quality sports videos housed at that site. (Thanks for entertaining our quick, shameless plug.)

The new season of Eastbound & Down, premiering tonight on HBO, is the third and final chapter in the saga of Kenny Powers. And like all epic final chapters, it apparently involves a baby’s (his name is Toby) birthday party. Check out the above clip for an all-too-brief glimpse into Phase 3 of Kenny Powers. Luckily, you only have to wait a few hours to see the whole episode, tonight at at 10 PM EST/PST on HBO.

You pretty much have the whole entire force of God coming at you via Kenny Powers in this new trailer for "Eastbound & Down’s" second season. You also have cornrows, a dwarf, hot Mexican women, an army of jet skis, mopeds, and drunken firing squads. This is the closest we will ever come to a Kevin Federline biopic.

Full-Grown Man Kenny Powers Doesn’t Use Twitter

HBO, "Eastbound & Down," Kenny Powers, and Danny McBride would like you to know that Twitter’s KFUCKINGP has nothing to do with them. For more than a year, a comedy writer from NYC has been posing as fictional washed-up baseball star Kenny Powers and delighting followers with his clever, very McBride-like tweets. He isn’t McBride though, as the actor himself told Vulture:

"Kenny Powers is a full-grown man, so he would never Twitter. But Kenny is also a man of the people. He doesn’t care if the public feels the need to impersonate him. That just puts him up there with the big dogs like Santa and Elvis Knowing that it’s a very funny committed fan makes us proud."

That’s a burn for all you bloggers out there. You grown-ass men shouldn’t share your thoughts, grievances, and lazy Sunday night plans with the world. Sure, Anonymous NYC Aspiring Comedy Writer found some success with it, but he sacrificed his masculinity in the process. Fortunately Screen Junkies has raw male power to spare, so we’re always tweeting the sh*t out of sh*t on our account HERE!!!!
