We've got a new trailer for 'The Debt', starring Sam Worthington, Helen Mirren and Tom Wilkinson. Three Israeli spies snuck into East Berlin to kidnap a horrible Nazi doctor... Stop me if you've heard this one.

For those of you who have never seen a movie where the villain is a Nazi – which I assume is all of you – then get ready for a treat.

Above is the trailer for The Debt, a Focus Features film directed by John Madden, starring Sam Worthington, Helen Mirren, Jessica “Young Helen Mirren” Chastain, and Tom Wilkinson. The film is about a Mossad mission in 1966 where three Israeli spies snuck into East Berlin to kidnap a horrible Nazi doctor. Surrounding that mission are dangers, secrets, and secret dangers. We follow the characters as they complete (?) the mission in the 60s, and thirty-some years later, when two of the now retired agents receive shocking news about their partner. *Duhn-duhn-duuuuuhn*

All goof-arounds aside, I can see this being an intriguing thriller. We see a lot of films about the Holocaust, but not as many about what happened afterward. Also, Israeli soldiers know how to kick some serious ass, and we saw a lot of Helen Mirren’s solid-looking boobs on a recent “SNL” episode I am intrigued.

The idea machine that is Hollywood has cooked up a real corker of a concept: British diction specialist Colin Firth should star in a remake of My Fair Lady. Miracle of miracles, whoever dreamed that up should get a Bentley. Firth has been pursued for the role of Henry Higgins in the Emma Thompson scripted remake of the Lerner and Loewe musical before, along with a million other batted around names. The studio wanted Hugh Grant, while original director Danny Boyle wanted Daniel Day-Lewis for the role so much that he even dropped out of the project when he couldn’t land him. Carey Mulligan is attached as Eliza Doolittle, a role that at one point was linked to Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and many others. Current director John Madden still wants Firth, and although the actor is next committed to the Coen Brothers scripted Gambit, he’s the top choice for the film.

The film has been delayed for a slew of reasons, from Mulligan’s shooting schedule, to the rights of the source material being tied up in various places. It seems that CBS owns some of it, as do the estates of Lerner and Loewe and also George Bernard Shaw. Regardless, these are not insurmountable issues, and all parties are reasonably confident that they can get the film in theaters by 2013. Colin Firth will just have to take a yea break from winning every award in history. Maybe he can take a vacation or something. A very proper and British vacation. (The Playlist)

Whether you believe in The Madden Curse or roll your eyes at it, you have something new to roll your eyes at-- Madden Curse: The Movie.

My drywall!

Whether you believe in The Madden Curse or roll your eyes at it, you have something new to roll your eyes at– Madden Curse: The Movie. Every year a different player is featured on the cover of the Madden NFL video game. Then, much like Final Destination, that player is then subsequently befallen with a season or career ending injury. The records speak for themselves:

1999 – Running back Garrison Hearst – broken fibula

2000 – Running back Dorsey Levens – career-ending knee injury

2001 – Eddie George – started to suck

2002 – QB Dante Culpepper – season-ending knee injury

2003 – Marshall Faulk – ankle injury

2004 – QB Michael Vick – broken leg the day after the game was released

2005 – Ray Lewis – torn hamstring, broken wrist, thigh injury

2006 – QB Donovan McNabb – scoffed at curse, season-ending hernia

2007 – Shaun Alexander – broken foot

2008 – QB Vince Young – quadricep and knee injury

2009 – QB Brett Favre – died in tanning bed fire

2010 – Larry Fitzgerald – rib injury; Troy Polamalu – torn PCL

2011 – QB Drew Brees – so far unscathed, New Orleans has suffered enough

The film will reportedly center around “a former Madden video game champion who is forced out of retirement just as he finds himself on the corner of the game’s cover — and subject to the curse.” I don’t know if that refers to a football player who graced the cover, or a video game player that somehow ends up on the cover. Either way, my advice is to wear knee pads. It’s the same advice I give your mom. (The Wrap)

So, did you hear the one about the girl with the cleft.....uh oh!
Next time your OB/GYN tells a crude joke or makes a "wrong turn," take a page from The Debt and bring the busta down, hardcore.

OB/GYN takedowns aside, The Debt tells the story of a team of Mossad agents tasked with capturing an infamous Nazi war criminal in 1965, and the secret that still haunts them 30 years later. Directed by John Madden and based on a 2007 Israeli film of the same name, The Debt is fun for the whole family, as long as your family considers films like Marathon Man and The Boys From Brazil "fun," which I assume they do.

Watch a badass OB/GYN takedown, after the jump.
