Back when Emile Hirsch was cast to play great, big, fat pig John Belushi in the late comedian’s biopic, it was also reported the role of young Dan Aykroyd would likely go to professional nerd, Nelson Franklin. Which makes perfect sense because just fucking look at him:

Instead comes word that Miles Teller has been offered the role. As a point of comparison, here’s what Miles Teller looks like:

And here’s a young Dan Aykroyd before his head started doing that thing:

This is not an indictment against Teller or his acting ability. It’s just physically he’s not right for the part. Now, if they ever make a biopic about that guy who gets a blow job from Tara Reid in American Pie, the kid is a shoe-in. (EW)

Emile Hirsch is the selection to play John Belushi in the upcoming biopic from Steve Conrad. Fun stuff. Hirsch beat out other shortlisted actors such as Joaquin Phoenix and Workaholics’ Adam Devine.

The film will focus on Belushi during the height of his fame because, duh, that’s the most interesting time of people’s lives. It’s not like we want to see them poor in a barn.

Hirsch will likely have to put on weight for the role, which means he probably gets to eat as many milkshakes as he can, giving everyone the excuse, “I have to. It’s for work,” as everyone else sits in their cubicles, eating last night’s kale salad that they won’t be able to expense for their job as a logistics manager because HR just had that seminar on what are and are not acceptable expenses.

BELUSHI!

This Friday marks the 5th annual Whiskyfest San Francisco. In honor of the event (and in order to secure my editor a press pass), we’ve compiled some of the finest whiskey drinkers Hollywood has to offer.

In our opinion, whiskey is a much more thoughtful drink than many others. Vodka may be more suave, gin more sophisticated, but whiskey is and has always been portrayed as… honest. No one drinks a gin gimlet when they’re troubled. Well, Ryan Seacrest might, but that’s about it.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at seven memorable movie whiskey drinkers. And for more information on WhiskyFest San Francisco, click here.

7 Paul Finch – American Pie

Even in high school, Paul Finch thought beer was for cretins and preferred something more sophisticated: single-malt scotch. His refined taste in alcoholic beverages came in handy, and he was able to convince Stifler’s mom to have a drink.

“Aged eighteen years. The way I like it.”

6. Lt. Archie Hicox – Inglorious Basterds

While masquerading as a German in a French bar, Lt. Archie Hicox gets called out by a German officer, Major Hellstrom. Rather than panicking, he keeps his composure and informs the Nazi bastard that he would like to finish his scotch before the bloody resolution, because, as he so artfully puts it, “There’s a special rung in hell reserved for people who waste good scotch. Seeing as how I may be rapping on the door momentarily…”

And with that, he downs his scotch shortly before a lot of people get sent to hell.

Todd Phillips Bringing The Life Of John Belushi To The Screen http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/movie-news/todd-phillips-bringing-the-life-of-john-belushi-to-the-screen/ http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/movie-news/todd-phillips-bringing-the-life-of-john-belushi-to-the-screen/#comments Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 Could we see Zach Galifianakis playing John Belushi in the near future? Possibly. THR has news that Todd Phillips and screenwriter Steven Conrad are developing a biopic about the comic legend at Warner Bros. Nearly thirty years after his death from a drug overdose, Belushi remains one of the most-respected names in comedy due to his classic films, "SNL" characters, and general fearlessness that he poured into his work. Casting for this needs to be perfect or else the project is sunk. Names like Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, and Ethan Suplee have been thrown into the mix, but I feel like casting directors need look no further than comedian Sean Patton. This man is his exact double. If we can almost make Donald Glover a Spider-man, we can do this. Here's a clip of Patton killing on Jimmy Fallon: In the interest of full disclosure, I'm not sure that he can do Belushi's eyebrow thing.
