If this movie didn’t star Al Pacino, one would think a quickly-turned biopic of Joe Paterno was better-suited for ESPN than the theaters. But it does. So it gets a theatrical release and Brian DePalma as a director.

DePalma directed Scarface, so he should be great for Penn State’s Paterno, since both characters so flagrantly played by their own rules.

The film is based on the coach’s biography Paterno, which doesn’t tackle the late unpleasantness of Joe’s life. Hmm. Without playing to the more scandalous aspects of Paterno’s life, this movie sounds insanely boring.
