The trailer for Knights of Badassdom is here and it does the impossible. Makes LARPing look awesome.

The movie stars Ryan Kwanten, Summer Glau, Peter Dinklage, Steve Zahn, Danny Pudi, and Jimmi Simpson as a group of LARPers who unwittingly open a portal that allows a demon to enter our world. They then have no choice but to pick up real weapons and vanquish the beast before it destroys them all. Fun premise but I’m having a difficult time suspending my disbelief.

I refuse to believe girls as hot as Summer Glau hang around LARPers. Unless they’re selling something.

Robin McLeavy To Be Abe Lincoln’s Mom Instead

In a development that I’m sure is humiliating to poor Robin McLeavy, the actress, who was previously rumored to be playing the part of Abraham Lincoln‘s crazy wife Mary Todd in the big-screen adaptation of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, is now playing the 16th president/vampire hunter’s mother instead. Whoa! Next I’ll be telling you that Robin McLeavy was cast as Helen Keller but got switched to Annie Sullivan instead. That’s a good joke, trust me.

The movie will also star Benjamin Walker, Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper and Jimmi Simpson. As for a plot synopsis, I think you’ve got pretty much all you need from the title. Abraham Lincoln hunts vampires. If you need anything more than this I’m not sure a website is going to solve your myriad of problems. (via The Playlist)

You know him as one of the milk drinking, bathrobe rocking McPoyl brothers on “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia,” and soon you’ll know him as one of the stars of the A&E series “Breakout Kings,” and now you’re about to know him for a yet to be determined/released role in the historical action comedy(!?) Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

He’ll join other noteworthy cast members like Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Dominic Cooper, Anthonie Mackie, and Benjamin Walker in Timur Bekmambetov‘s feature film. The story, based on the novel by Seth Grahame-Smith, concerns an alternate reality in which a teenage vampire who saves Mary Todd Lincoln trains the president to fight and kill vamps. It starts shooting next month and is sure to delight nerds of all classification, especially those who prefer the made up genre of Historical Macabre Comedy.
