Laughing, shouting, pacing around while thinking – these are three of the many actions we’ve come to expect from George Clooney‘s actor toolbox over the years. In these set pics from the upcoming Ides of March, the Cloon does not disappoint. If the film has this many different verbs acted out, I’m sold. More so if they’re acted out in 3D.

Clooney co-wrote, directs and stars in – get ready to use your “shocked” face for a moment – a politically themed movie based loosely on Howard Dean. Originally a play by Beau Willimon, Ides of March is about an idealistic press secretary (Ryan Gosling) who falls victim to the big, bad Washington machine. At one point, Gosling is literally captured and eaten by a giant machine wearing an Uncle Sam hat. But not really.

The cast is impressive. Besides Clooney and Gosling, the film also stars Paul Giamatti, Jeffrey Wright, Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood. They’re eyeing/idesing a December 2011 – January 2012 release. (/Film)

The second trailer for Duncan Jones‘s Source Code wastes no time getting to the point. If you like your intrigue sprinkled with cool special effects and Jake Gyllenhaal jumping around on a train, this is your leading source of joy.

Jake Gyllenhaal is beamed into the body of a doomed train passenger and only has eight minutes to locate a bomb before it explodes. When he fails to do so, he’s beamed back. The more he travels back. the more events shift and change. Careful playing with that kind of fire, Jake. If you mess around too much, your father may never beat up a rapist outside the Enchantment Under The Sea Dance. Then where would you be?

Jeffrey Wright And Viola Davis Are Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/movie-news/jeffrey-wright-and-viola-davis-are-extremely-loud-and-incredibly-close/ http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/movie-news/jeffrey-wright-and-viola-davis-are-extremely-loud-and-incredibly-close/#comments Fri, 21 Jan 2011 18:56:05 +0000 Joseph Gibson http://www.screenjunkies.com/?p=21377 Two new additions to 'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close' round out an already impressive cast

We’ve been hearing a lot about the upcoming adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer’s novel Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. In case you don’t know, here’s a quick plot synopsis:

“The plot focuses on Oskar Schell, a nine-year-old boy from Manhattan whose father died on 9/11. Two years later, the boy discovers a key belonging to his father, which sends him on a search through the city.”

The article doesn’t say what parts the new cast additions Jeffrey Wright and Viola Davis are going to be playing, but they’re joining Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock, and John Goodman along with child actor Thomas Horn.

I haven’t read the book yet, but my impression is it’s a bit of a weeper, so we’ll probably be seeing lots of Oscar buzz for this, especially considering the involvement of screenwriter Eric Roth, he of Forrest Gump and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Plus if “the 9/11 movie” doesn’t at least get a Best Picture nomination, don’t the terrorists win, or something? (via The Playlist)

He soon finds out that he’s part of a government experiment called the”Source Code,” which enables him to cross over into another man’s identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. He relives a massive train explosion over and over and over again in an effort to find the bomber and get the damn train safely to its stop. It looks one notch more intense than your average NYC work commute, which is saying a lot. Michelle Monaghan plays the love interest, and Vera Farmiga and Jeffrey Wright run the program. I wish more code writers at my office looked like Vera Farmiga. And smelled less like Pringles. Love you guys! (Please don’t destroy my site).
