Yay, it’s Tron Tuesday again… That means another sneak peak promotion clip thingy. This one looks under the hoods of the vehicles in Tron Legacy. Can we just see the damn movie already?!
When we finally see Kevin Flynn again in Tron: Legacy, he sort of resembles an even more famous Jeff Bridges character. You’ve seen that barefoot, bearded Flynn in the robe, but he even talks like The Dude. He describes digital jazz, man and doesn’t want anyone to “mess with his Zen.”
Releasing one bad-ass poster for True Grit just isn’t enough to appease those Coen Brothers. As the film’s December release draws near, the marketing team is beginning their full press.
Tron: Legacy has released its international teaser trailer. It looks a lot like the teaser trailer that was already released, except it’s been cut in a slightly different manner, as not to upset the good people of Finland.
It’s Tron Tuesday again! That means more Tron Legacy stuff. If for some reason you weren’t itching to see Tron Legacy before, this third trailer should spark your interest. Unless you’re vehemently opposed to awesomeness.
It's "Tron Tuesday" again everyone, and you know what that means! A new Tron Legacy clip that doesn't show the really good parts that you don't want spoiled anyway! Last week we saw Olivia Wilde, who plays Quorra, taking Sam on a Light Runner ride to unknown territory. Now that territory becomes not unknown, or rather, known.
In this new clip entitled "You're Here," Sam is reunited with his father Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), who's been going batty in a computer program for the past several decades. You know he's losing his mind because he stares off into the abyss and is dressed in all white. Only mad men and Boyz II Men dress in all white.

What is this? ‘The Wicker Man‘? Hot on the heels of last week’s True Grit teaser comes the full length jump off. This time around we see a lot more…
True Grit isn't messing around with its new poster. The tag "Punishment Comes One Way or Another" lets you know that sh*t is gonna get real, and real fast. The broadsheet style seems appropriate for the film, and Josh Brolin's name bleeding out is the perfect Coen Bros. touch. Sure, I'll go ahead and check this one out come Christmas. It might be nothing short of awesome.
The teaser for Joel and Ethan Coen's True Grit just rode into town, and it looks like a good one. The action follows Hailee Steinfeld's Mattie Ross as she teams with Jeff Bridges to hunt down the coward that killed her pappy. You might be quick to say that the Coens are trying to recapture the magic of No Country For Old Men, but that I really don't see the similarities. For instance, this teaser keeps it fresh with sun-bleached Western scenery, gunfights, Josh Brolin, and dorky haircuts. Oh.

The first event I caught at this year's Comic-Con was the Tron Legacy panel, moderated by Patton Oswalt, a favorite comedian of mine and yours. I'm not allowed to show you the footage that was screened, although you can read my brief description in my Thursday's adventures recap, but I have video of the panel discussion. You can also check out the awesome new trailer here.
All of the actors were in attendence (for a third year in a row), including Garret Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Michael Sheen, and Jeff Bridges, as well as director Joseph Kosinski. They enlighten us on the process of making the film, the flashy difference between Tron Legacy and Tron proper, and how Olivia kicked-ass in high heels. You really shouldn't need much more convincing to see the film when it opens on December 17, 2010.
The Tron Legacy panel at Comic-Con turned nerd boner-sacks inside out with its awesomeness. For those of us who didn't meet the maximum weight requirement to attend, Disney dropped this new trailer. I haven't seen anything this sexy since the last trailer. In this one, Garret Hedlund plays Cyber-Jesus as he battles his father's Doppelganger and creations while on a mission to find his real dad. Just like me and my stepdad. You're not the king of me, Roy!!
It all looks very cool and, yes, there is a light-jet. Didn't see that one coming. Then again, I don't work for a toy manufacturer.
TRON LEGACY OPENS IN 147 DAYS, BUT YOU CAN SEE THE TRAILER BELOW.
Yesterday we saw Colin Farrell sporting a combover for Horrible Bosses, and now we've got a first look at Jeff Bridges wearing an eye patch for The Coen Brothers' True Grit. Oh those silly actors and their dress-up make believe fun time. Bridges plays alcoholic U.S. Marshal Rooster Cogburn in the re-adaptation of the Charles Portis novel. The original adaptation starred John Wayne in the role of Rooster, who teams up with a 14-year old girl to avenge her father's murder. Hailey Steinfeld plays the girl, Mattie Ross, this time around, and Matt Damon and Josh Brolin are also on board as a Texas Ranger and the murderer respectively. The film opens Christmas Day. I just basically wrote the formula for an Oscar nomination. Especially since Bridges has the drunk character thing on lock. If you win an Oscar twice for playing a drunk do you have to go to AAA? That's Acting Alcoholics Anonymous for all you sober non-thespians out there. Don't worry, my writing packet is already in the mail to Leno. Check out more pics of Bridges as Rooster after the jump.
It took Disney 28 years to sequelize Tron and, now, negative nine months to start work on a third film. Tron Legacy writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz have been hired to write another sequel with the intention to round out the story as a trilogy. At this point, it's not known if director Joseph Kosinski or the film's stars will return. It's also not known whether the movie deserves a sequel. Though that's never stopped anyone before.I'm looking at you Resident Evil. (THR)
The long-awaited Tron Legacy trailer is finally here thanks to some selfless individuals (read: nuuurrdddssss!) who solved the viral puzzle campaign to unlock the trailer. It looks pretty great. I'm sure that inhaler sales just skyrocketed. The trailer opens with Bruce Boxleitner sending Jeff Bridges's cool-haired son to track down his cyber-dad in the world of Tron. What we get is a nice look at the Techtropolis that the world of Tron has become — complete with cyber-babes, cyber-ninjas, Zoolander's nemesis Mugatu, and Jeff Bridges with his cyber-Rat Pack. Missing is Tron Guy. Though it's quite possible he's hiding behind this cyber-couch, waiting for the perfect moment to steal a sniff of Olivia Wilde's cyber-hair. Check out the trailer after the jump. It's worth it for the Daft Punk track alone.
After casting a nationwide net, Joel and Ethan Coen have found an actress to portray the young protagonist in their True Grit remake. Thirteen-year old Hailee Steinfeld will be joining forces with Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon to hunt down Josh Brolin. Though Steinfeld isn't as popular as her co-stars, all of that is going to change. Her character, the fourteen-year old Mattie Ross, is described as a “simple, tough as nails, young woman in post-Civil War Arkansas. Her unusually steely nerves and straightforward manner are often surprising to those she meets. She possessed plenty of true grit and determination."Let's hope that Hailee Steinfeld is every bit as precocious as the character calls for. Remember, fourteen-year olds in Arkansas are considered mature for their age. They're at least mature enough to legally wed. (Deadline)
Last week we threw our Best Actress contenders into the Thunderdome where they battled with claw hammers and whaling harpoons for the honor of taking home a Shiny Gold Dude. …
Though he's currently busy Oscar shoe-in being and We Are The Worlding, Jeff Bridges is also appearing in next winter's Tron Legacy, the follow-up to Bridges' classic sci-fi film. Today we have an alleged "first look" at Bridges in the sequel, but that's only if you don't consider the Comic-Con teaser trailer. Which is pretty cool looking by the way (posted after the jump). In the newly released photo, we see Bridges dressed as an iPod. He and Bruce Boxleitner are going to be big hits at the Boing Boing Halloween party. (Cinema Blend)
And the winner of the 2011 Oscar for Best Picture is… True Grit. Oh sorry, I was future-writing again. The Coen Brother's True Grit hasn't won any awards yet (nor has it been filmed or finished casting) but Paramount is showing a lot of faith by setting the remake up for a Christmas Day release.Jeff Bridges is set to star as Rooster Cogburn, the drunken U.S. Marshal originally played by John Wayne, as he teams up with a 14-year old girl to avenge her father's murder. Matt Damon and Josh Brolin are also on board as a Texas Ranger and the murderer respectively. There's a lot of talent involved here and it looks like a definite contender even this far out.Bridges has a good shot at finally winning his Oscar this year with Crazy Heart. So who knows? Maybe next year the role will bring him Oscar glory like it did for Wayne. Then he'll become a member of the back-to-back winner's club. A club that hosts Luise Rainer, Spencer Tracy, Katherine Hepburn, Jason Robards, Tom Hanks, and Zac Efron. Sorry. Future-writing again. (Variety)
As this new poster for Tron Legacy declares, "the game has changed." But how? How has this game changed? Still looks all cyber-bikey to me. Is there cyber-lava now?? Or is it that the chicks are hotter this time around?Yes. That could be it. The girls are more attractive and, as you can see from the poster below, the perverts are just as Midwestern.
Jeff Bridges may soon be able to wipe away the stigma of "Four Time Academy Award NOMINEE" from his title and add the coveted "Academy Award Winner." The trailer for Crazy Heart gives him a role as strong as Mickey Rourke's in The Wrestler, but replaces bright spandex with a good 'ol fashioned gee-tar. The Dude plays Bad Blake, a broke down country music singer looking to find salvation with the help of a journalist (instead of stripper this time) played by I-look-like-a-sad-turtle Maggie Gyllenhaal. As Blake and the turtle struggle down the road of redemption, they learn profound things about each other and themselves, and it changes their perception of the future. Basically.Check out the trailer after the jump.
The second trailer for Men Who Stare At Goats has arrived, and it's clearly evident in it that Clooney is the man. Plus he's got a finely groomed mustache, which brings back fond memories of his hilariously over the top performance in O Brother, Where Art Thou? I was excited to see this movie after the first trailer, and now I'm giddy. Yes, just like a school girl.
