Make The Cast Of ‘This Is The End’ Do Weird Stuff To Each Other

Are you fan of Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, James Franco, and Danny McBride but find it frustrating that you have no control over their thoughts and actions? Your problems are solved. The guys have This Is The End headed to theaters on June 12th and as a “thank you” to the fans, they’ve agreed to get weird with one another.

Your involvement is simple. Just visit the This Is The End Facebook page and give them a LIKE. The more likes that they receive, the more crazy stuff you can see them do. For instance, if the page gets 500K likes, Danny McBride will wax Seth Rogen’s back (trust us, he’s overdue); 650K likes will force Jay Baruchel and Danny McBride to eat the same spaghetti noodle like a couple of lovesick dogs; and for 800K likes Seth Rogen will paint a (hopefully tasteful) nude portrait of James Franco.

So, get to it. There’s hilarious male nudity out there just waiting for you! And remember to check back here as new videos are unlocked.

For those of us who felt anger and disappointment after watching Paper Heart, vindication is here. The new red band trailer for This Is The End gives us a glimpse of the gruesome death Michael Cera suffers in the film. No sign of Charlene Yi but let’s assume she’s being torn apart by dogs off-screen somewhere.

The story follows an epic weekend in the life of Seth Rogen and his movie star buddies. It all starts at a party at James Franco’s house but things quickly take a turn when the Apocalypse begins — devastating Los Angeles and Judd Apatow‘s A-list. Great, now he’s going to have to put his kids in evvverything.

We all laughed at the Mayan prediction that the world would come to an end on this date, but now as I type this from the limbo state of eternal damnation I can see that maybe we should have listened better. Same in the case of Seth Rogen and his pals. This preview from next year’s This Is The End shows that they were all just hanging out having an Apatow buddies party when suddenly the world ended and now both Michael Cera and David Krumholtz are dead. Now we’ll never get a Numb3rs reunion special.

Seann William Scott Thrashes Canadians In ‘Goon’ Red Band

This trailer for Goon opens with Seann William Scott wondering about his place in the world. His father and brother have the whole doctor thing, and all he has is a willingness to be seen in public with Jay Baruchel. Until one fateful evening when he beats the sh*t out of a Canadian. This gives another Canadian the idea that maybe Canadians would pay to see this Canadian beat other Canadians mercilessly. And thus, he is declared their greatest champion. It’s a lot like Gladiator. But only if the characters in Gladiator drank Molson and ate Poutine.

Oh, and Jim’s Dad is there. Did anyone bother to tell him this isn’t an American Pie sequel?

‘Goon’ Trailer Teaches Us Hockey Is About Fighting And Little Else

Judging by its trailer, the hockey comedy Goon looks to be a strange film. It’s got all the hallmarks of comedy (slapstick, Stifler, Eugene Levy), but it doesn’t appear to be funny. In its defense, it’s not clear that the film is trying to be funny, either.

What is it about hockey comedies that aren’t funny? Slap Shot, Mystery, Alaska, and now this film.

In any event, Goon tells the story of bouncer Doug Glatt (Seann William Scott), who plays hockey as an enforcer, ruling the roost until he gets called up to the next league, where he’s outclassed by the like of Liev Schreiber‘s Ross Rhea.

They also drink a lot, and he sleeps with a girl that looks an awful lot like Zooey Deschanel, but isn’t. This is a hard movie to peg. Check out the trailer and see if you can do a better job than I can.

Just Look At Robert Pattinson In ‘Cosmopolis’

My god, look at Robert Pattinson. He’s a busy movie star, the idol of millions of teenage girls across the globe. Now look at him, acting in David Cronenberg‘s Cosmopolis, about a billionaire who embarks on a whirlwind limo ride through Manhattan. You can see a larger version of the first image from the movie by clicking the image above. It’s also inhabited by Sarah Gadon, who presumably is playing Pattinson’s love interest.

In order to get elite status in the Apatow Inner Circle, you also have to write screenplays, like Brother Rogen and Brother Segel. Acting awkward on camera only gets you to level 6. Maybe that’s why Jay Baruchel is looking to get his Final Draft on.

Baruchel and writing partner Jesse Chabot have signed on for two projects. They will adapt Kickstart Comics’ Random Acts of Violence, which is about horror comic book creators on a signing tour, and murders follow them wherever they go. It all centers around their star character, Slasherman. Hold on, does that mean Baruchel and Chabot are gonna become murder magnets when they’re on the press tour? We should all ask Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray, the original writers of the comic. Only they know the rules for how that works.

The writing team will also tackle a rewrite on Summit‘s Exorcism Diaries, based on The Real Story Behind The Exorcist by Mark Opsasnick. It’s the story of a reporter who gets the unfortunate attention of a supernatural being while researching the story of history’s most famous exorcism. This is why you have to be careful around Ouija boards, you guys. Let’s just play Sorry instead. No, you’re the one who’s scared.

Baruchel also co-wrote the recently shot hockey comedy Goon with Evan Goldberg. (Hollywood Reporter)

It’s time for another casting round-up, cowpokes. We sat ourselves down in front of studio lots, waited fer critters (celebrities) to walk out, hog tied ‘em, and asked them what parts they got. Here’s what y’all need to know:

PENELOPE CRUZ will team up with director Woody Allen once again, this time on a film set in Rome. There are no plot details yet, but the computer program I wrote says the odds are very high that it won’t be as good as earlier Woody Allen movies. (EW)

THANDIE NEWTON will play opposite Tyler Perry in his next film Good Deeds, which Perry will write and direct as well. The film is about a successful businessman who must choose between his rich fiancée and a down-on-her-luck single mother. Even if it’s bad, Newton can take comfort that it can’t be worse than Norbit. JAY BARUCHEL will join Robert Pattinson, Samantha Morton, and Paul Giamatti in David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis. Pattinson plays a billionaire who loses everything he has in one day, including his new wife. Bad things happening to Pattinson, I can get on board with. Baruchel plays the original founder and conscious at Pattinson’s company. (Deadline)

MAGGIE GRACE will star alongside Liam Neeson in Taken 2, produced by Luc Besson. And yes, the will-he-or-won’t-he-tension of whether Neeson would take on Taken 2 has been resolved in the affirmative. Eight-time “Namey” award winner Olivier Megaton will direct. (Deadline) (Collider)

The Nicolas Cage/Jay Baruchel goofy hair tour de force The Sorcerer’s Apprentice released a new trailer during the NBA Finals. This time we get a better look at the thrilling action and bizarre enemies as Jay Baruchel cowers and trembles with Urkel-like aplomb. All in all, the effects look cool and the magic looks ridiculous. Still looks more believable than Jay Baruchel scoring with Alice Eve though.

Adidas Recreates ‘Star Wars’ Cantina Scene With Snoop Dogg, Others

Adidas wants you to buy their Star Wars Originals collection, so LucasFilm made this two minute commercial that doesn’t feature shoes. It stars Snoop Dogg, Daft Punk, David Beckham, Jay Baruchel, Ciara, and others in the Cantina Scene from Star Wars. My only question is, why do the patrons give the black guy trouble? If they’re racist, which they clearly are, they should have known the brother would be packin’ heat.

‘Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ Teaser Poster Could Be Many Things

The new teaser poster for The Sorcerer’s Apprentice could be many things.

It could be an image captured by an intrepid papparazzo who snuck up to a window at Nicolas Cage’s house, only to find the star glaring back out at him.
Two years after completing work on Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call, New Orleans, Nicolas Cage can’t put down the pipe.
He’s borrowing jewelry from his son now.
This is early concept art for his team-up with Bone Thugs n Harmony.
Nicolas Cage will appear in any movie. All you have to do is ask.

International ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ Trailer Tries to Convince Us Magic is Cool

Jerry Bruckheimer would like you to know that Nicolas Cage is not some gay-bay sorcerer like you’re used to seeing. No way. This sorcerer drives a sports car (and is probably going through a sorcerer’s mid-life crisis). A new international trailer for The Sorcerer’s Apprentice was conjured up today. (*submits resume to Variety*) In this version, we see the same framework of the first with Nicolas Cage in a dopey hat abducting Jay Baruchel from his life as a physics nerd to induct him into the life of a magic nerd. The largest difference is more footage of the excellent Alfred Molina as the villian "Maxim," a nefarious sorcerer who hangs out in dudes’ bathrooms but then gets hidden hastily when girls are over.

Sadly you’ll have to wait until July 16th to see Cage go full-wizard.

What a punum on this one. The vein in the forehead really sells it for me. In this red-band clip from She’s Out of My League, Jay Baruchel tries to hold it in for Alice Eve, but, understandably, fails. I WISH I had the opportunity to destroy a pair of Dockers due to Alice-Eve-friction on my sensitive areas. She wouldn’t even have to touch. A simple glance would send me twitching and flopping to the ground. Oh pretty ladies, how they make standing in line at Subway such a chore.

‘She’s Out of My League’ Red-Band Trailer Contains Humor

Maybe I was too hard on She’s Out Of My League the last time I wrote about it. Probably not but maybe. The red band trailer has inserted itself into the warm, fleshy pocket that is the Internet and rubbed a few laughs against its walls.

For the most part, it’s what we’ve already seen; nerdy guy obtains seemingly-unobtainable girl and his friends and family are dicks about the whole thing. However, the new scenes added indicate that this movie is a lot more inventive than the cheaply cranked-out Road Trip: Beer Pong or American Pie Presents cinemabortions. Some people say adding "f*cks" for funny is just a crutch. I say hobble on over here.

I may have to give this one half of a half of a chance. Early ruling: two out of five Eugene Levys (note: Eugene Levys are not good awards to receive).

‘She’s Out Of My League’ Trailer is Missing Eugene Levy

Have you brosefs seen the trailer for She’s Out Of My League? It has babes, bros, and ejaculation jokes. All that’s missing is Eugene Levy and his dead horse beating stick. Dude, rock on! Let’s drink brews and listen to Asher Roth! UR my boy, Blue!!

The movie looks like a cousin to Miss March, The Hottie & the Nottie, and Euro-Trip and there’s a good reason for that. It was written by Hot Tub Time Machine and Sex Drive‘s Sean Anders and John Morris, who learned English by reading Maxim magazine. Jay Baruchel and TJ Miller are solid comedic actors so let’s hope this movie has some bite that they’re just not showing. Apart from Alice Eve, there’s nothing worth looking at in this trailer. Watch for yourself but this almost looks as bad as Cop Out.

‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ Trailer

Nicolas Cage loooooooves fake hair. We recently posted The Season of the Witch trailer, in which Cage dons flowing locks of stringy fibers, and it appears he continues the trend in the new trailer for The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. There’s CG magic abound in the Disney film, and Jay Barachul in disbelief of most of it. I have to say though, the dragon stuff is pretty cool. I mean, it’s no Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, because that "film" was clearly Rob Cohen jerkin’ it in front of a mirror, so maybe Apprentice can give CG dragons the recognition they deserve.

The trailer below is proof of what happens when a sorcerer leaves his workshop in the hands of an inept apprentice, who naturally puts a spell on a broomstick to do chores for him (because he’s lazy) and the brookstick goes apesh*t. Jay Barachul plays Mickey Mouse.

The film is directed by Jon Turteltaub, who directed Instinct, the movie where Anthony Hopkins plays a monkey, and the National Treasure movies.
