This movie will get made much slower than you can say 'Jackie Robinson'.

The story of Jackie Robinson could obviously make a pretty compelling movie. And the folks at Legendary Pictures must agree, since they’ve put a Robinson biopic in development, despite the fact that everyone from Spike Lee to Robert Redford has attempted and failed to get one made. Now it’s producer Thomas Tull who’s at bat (ha ha!). Here he is on the project:

“We are deeply honored and grateful to be able to bring the Jackie Robinson story to audiences around the world. The legacy he left on history, society and the sport of baseball is one that will never be forgotten, and we are pleased to tell this amazing story of a true American hero.”

Isn’t it refreshing to see a Hollywood bigshot cut loose and say what’s on his mind like that? I can’t wait for this movie to come out!
