This article is sure to give you ... indigestion.

Author RL Stine is famous for his “Goosebumps” series, which brings gruesome horror to children’s books, where it belongs. Now, one of his books, which is totally not a “Goosebumps” book, but separate, thank you, is getting turned into a movie. It’s the First Day of School … Forever is being described as “a thoroughly reimagined Diary of a Wimpy Kid meets Groundhog Day,” so if that sounds good to you, start getting excited about this movie. Here’s a plot synopsis:

“‘It’s The First Day of School … Forever’ … tells the story of 12-year-old Artie, whose second day at his new school is exactly like his first, which just happened to be the worst day of his life. The boy finds himself reliving the same horrible day and must find a way to change his nightmare.”

First thought: Who would name a kid “Artie” in this day and age? No offense to any Arties reading this, but it strikes me as a weird name for a kid in 2011. Anyway, good luck Artie. Hope you make it out OK, only for the very end of the last scene of the movie to reveal that you have to relive the SECOND day of school again and again, or something.
