<description><![CDATA[In honor of his upcoming role as King Laufey in <em>Thor</em>, we've put together a new edition of "Hey, It's That Guy," celebrating Feore's career.]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If I walked up to you right now and said, &#8220;Hey, <a href="http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/movie-news/15-actors-you-know-from-somewhere/" target="_blank">Colm Feore</a> is signing autographs in the next room,&#8221; you&#8217;d probably be all like, &#8220;what the hell are you doing in my house, bro?&#8221; Well first of all, I&#8217;m not your friggen bro. But second, you really should know who Colm Feore is. In fact, you probably do know him even if you don&#8217;t recognize his name. He&#8217;s been in countless movies and television shows. Well, I suppose I could count them, but it&#8217;s a long list, spanning over 30 years. In honor of his upcoming role as King Laufey in <em>Thor</em>, we&#8217;ve put together a new edition of &#8220;<a href="http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/movie-news/hey-its-that-guy-stephen-tobolowsky-edition/" target="_blank">Hey, It&#8217;s That Guy</a>,&#8221; celebrating Feore&#8217;s career. Enjoy.</p>
<h4><em>Iron Eagle II</em> &#8211; Yuri Lebanov (1988)</h4>
<p><iframe width="450" height="367" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/VbjuMSyoEyQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>Alright, this isn&#8217;t the best film in the world, but when you&#8217;re five years old, it&#8217;s not too bad. And it manages to dumb down <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/cold-war/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>Cold War</a> politics to a level that even a five-year old can grasp. In case you can&#8217;t tell, I was like five when this movie came out, which also explains why Feore&#8217;s <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/russian/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>Russian</a> accent seemed so genuine to me at the time.</p>
<h4><em>Face/Off</em> (1997) </h4>
<p><a href="http://cdn2.screenjunkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Face-Off-ear-laser-3.jpg"><img src="http://cdn2.screenjunkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Face-Off-ear-laser-3-e1304552715440.jpg" alt='' title="Face Off - ear laser 3" width="450" height="220" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-210539" /></a></p>
<p>As you can see from the photo above, Feore had a huge part in <em>Face/Off</em>. OK, maybe it&#8217;s a small role, but he does play the doctor in charge of the face-swapping surgery. Without him, there would be no <em>Face/Off.</em> Frankly, that&#8217;s a world I don&#8217;t want to live in.</p>
<h4><em>Storm of the Century</em> &#8211; Andre Linoge (1999)</h4>
<p><iframe width="450" height="367" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ei5P_6el3ZE?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>When Andre Linoge shows up in <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/films/the-town' target='_blank'>the town</a> of Little Tall Island during a blizzard, he sure seems to know a lot of the townsfolk&#8217;s <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/secrets/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>secrets</a>. That probably has something to do with the fact that he&#8217;s actually the demo <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/films/legion' target='_blank'>Legion</a>, and he wants one of <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/the-town-402/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>the town</a>&#8216;s children as an heir. As far as made for <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/tv-movies/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>TV movies</a> from the 90&#8242;s go, this has to rank on the high end on the list, thanks in no small part to Feore&#8217;s performance as Linoge.</p>
<h4><em>The Insider</em> &#8211; Richard Scruggs (1999)</h4>
<p><a href="http://cdn2.screenjunkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Richard+Scruggs.jpg"><img src="http://cdn2.screenjunkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Richard+Scruggs-e1304553513679.jpg" alt='' title="Richard+Scruggs" width="450" height="344" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-210546" /></a></p>
<p>In 1999, Feore also played the real-life role of Richard Scruggs, a prominent Mississippi lawyer involved in a law suit against big tobacco. Looking at the picture above, it&#8217;s easy to see why he landed the part. </p>
<h4><em>Trudeau</em> &#8211; Pierre Elliott Trudeau (2002)</h4>
<p><a href="http://cdn2.screenjunkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/trudeau.jpg"><img src="http://cdn2.screenjunkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/trudeau-e1304553883831.jpg" alt='' title="trudeau" width="450" height="337" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-210550" /></a></p>
<p>This one goes out to all our Canadian fans (all five of you). In 2002, Feore won a Gemini Award for Best Performance by an Actor for his role as Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau. I know what you&#8217;re thinking: &#8220;what&#8217;s a Gemini Award?&#8221; Well, it&#8217;s like an Emmy award, but for Canadians. Now you&#8217;re thinking, &#8220;what&#8217;s a prime minister?&#8221; Well, he&#8217;s sort of lik <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/films/the-american' target='_blank'>the American</a> president, except white. Weird, right?</p>
<h4><em>The Chronicles of Riddick</em> &#8211; Lord Marshal (2004)</h4>
<p><a href="http://cdn2.screenjunkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/w0i69w.png"><img src="http://cdn2.screenjunkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/w0i69w-e1304555029874.png" alt='' title="w0i69w" width="450" height="299" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-210564" /></a></p>
<p>In <em>The Chronicles of Riddick</em>, Feore plays Lord Marshal, leader of the Necromongers, a warlike race attempting to reach the Underverse. As is the case with most warlike movie races, they&#8217;ll stop at nothing to reach their goal. Based on this picture alone, it&#8217;s clear that you do not want to f*ck with this guy.</p>
<h4"<a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tv/shows/battlestar-galactica' target='_blank'>Battlestar Galactica</a>&#8221; &#8211; President Richard Adar (2006)</h4>
<p><a href="http://cdn2.screenjunkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/battle-star-president.jpg"><img src="http://cdn2.screenjunkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/battle-star-president.jpg" alt='' title="battle-star-president" width="450" height="312" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-210561" /></a></p>
<p>In &#8220;<a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/battlestar-galactica-889/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>Battlestar Galactica</a>,&#8221; President Richard Adar is an important character&#8230;for about five minutes. Unfortunately, he is killed off rather quickly when a nuclear <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/apocalypse/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>apocalypse</a> rips through his home world during a Cylon attack. However, despite his character&#8217;s death, Feore did squeeze out some more work via flashbacks.</p>
<h4"<a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tv/shows/24' target='_blank'>24</a>&#8221; &#8211; Henry Taylor (2009)</h4>
<p><a href="http://cdn2.screenjunkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/colm-feore-24.jpg"><img src="http://cdn2.screenjunkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/colm-feore-24.jpg" alt='' title="colm feore 24" width="450" height="300" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-210566" /></a></p>
<p>When the screen writers for <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/24-960/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>24</a> were taking their guess as to who would win the 2008 <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/election/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>election</a>, clearly they went with Hillary Clinton. That worked out well for Feore, who ended up playing First Husband Henry Taylor. Unfortunately, things didn&#8217;t work out so well for his character, who ended up with a murdered son and a <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/divorce/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>divorce</a>.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://cdn2.screenjunkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Stephen-Tobolowsky-Its-That-Guy.jpg"><img src="http://cdn2.screenjunkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Stephen-Tobolowsky-Its-That-Guy-e1302824685881.jpg" alt="" title="Stephen Tobolowsky It&#039;s That Guy" width="500" height="281" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-207214" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/movie-news/9-days-that-make-reliving-groundhog-day-look-easy/" target="_blank">Stephen Tobolowsky</a> is definitely &#8220;that guy.&#8221; You instantly recognize him when you see him in a film or on television, but chances are, you don&#8217;t know his name. Some might view that as an insult, but I think it&#8217;s more of a testament to his skill as a character actor. With over 200 films under his belt, Tobolowsky has been a staple in Hollywood for decades. And to celebrate his illustrious career (which after tonight, will include an appearance on &#8220;<a href="http://www.screenjunkies.com/tv/tv-news/community-vs-community-college/" target="_blank">Community&#8221;</a>), we&#8217;ve compiled five of our favorite Stephen Tobolowsky moments. Enjoy.</p>
<h4>Ned Ryerson &#8211; <em>Groundhog Day</em></h4>
<p align=center><iframe title="<a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/youtube-968/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>YouTube</a> video player&#8221; width=&#8221;500&#8243; height=&#8221;405&#8243; src=&#8221;http://www.youtube.com/embed/xkW_ZkMtmlQ?rel=0&#8243; frameborder=&#8221;0&#8243; allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>What Stephen Tobolowsky feature would be complete without his appearance in <em>Groundhog Day</em>? In the film, he plays that guy from everyone&#8217;s past&#8230;the one they never want to see again (i.e. me).</p>
<h4>Captain of the Guard &#8211; <em>Spaceballs</em></h4>
<p align=center><iframe title="YouTube video player" width="500" height="405" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/gSVsVJM5puc?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>I bet you didn&#8217;t even remember that Tobolowsky was in this <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/mel-brooks/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>Mel Brooks</a>&#8216; classic. Well, that&#8217;s your fault. You shouldn&#8217;t drink so much. Watch the hilarious &#8220;Stunt Double&#8221; scene and see for yourself.</p>
<h4>Tor Eckman &#8211; &#8220;<a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/seinfeld-57/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>Seinfeld</a>&#8220;</h4>
<p align=center><iframe title="YouTube video player" width="500" height="405" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/y0Xdg6BuKCU?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>Tobolowsky has starred in his fair share of movies, but he&#8217;s also appeared in some of the most popular shows on television, Seinfeld being perhaps the most popular. In this episode (The Heart Attack), he plays Tor Eckman, Kramer&#8217;s holistic healer. It doesn&#8217;t end well for George, but then again, nothing does.</p>
<h4>Commissioner <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/hugo/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>Hugo</a> Jarry &#8211; &#8220;<a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/deadwood/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>Deadwood</a>&#8220;</h4>
<p align=center><a href="http://cdn2.screenjunkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Commissioner-Hugo-Jarry-Stephen-Tobolowsky.jpg"><img src="http://cdn2.screenjunkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Commissioner-Hugo-Jarry-Stephen-Tobolowsky.jpg" alt="" title="Commissioner Hugo Jarry Stephen Tobolowsky" width="500" height="386" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-207227" /></a></p>
<p>This role is a long way from &#8220;<a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/groundhog-day-214/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>Groundhog Day</a>.&#8221; Tobolowsky plays Commissioner Hugo Jarry, a corrupt public official with a penchant for whores. If you&#8217;ve ever wanted to see Tobolowsky blow bubbles at a <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/topless/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>topless</a> woman&#8217;s <a href='http://www.screenjunkies.com/tag/breasts-867/' class='linkify' target='_blank'>breasts</a> while yelling &#8220;titties,&#8221; then I suggest you check this scene out. Sorry we couldn&#8217;t supply the video.</p>
<h4>Sammy Jenkins &#8211; <em>Memento</em></h4>
<p align=center><iframe title="YouTube video player" width="500" height="405" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/K9lOnmnj0IY?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>In <em>Memento,</em> Tobolowsky plays Sammy Jenkins, a character with short-term memory loss. Although his story is told entirely through flashbacks, his role is crucial in explaining the plot of the film. It&#8217;s a memorable role in a film about memory. My God! How ironic.</p>
