That’s way too specific to be a commonly-used adage, but it seems like an appropriate lede for this story.

I, Frankenstein, a film adaptation of a graphic novel produced by Lakeshore Entertainment, has found its writer-director in Stuart Beattie. Beattie has recently penned G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Australia and 30 Days of Night.

It would seem that I, Frankenstein can best be pitched as “Blade, but, you know…if he was a Frankenstein.” Which sounds uninspired, but not altogether bad, as I have always fancied the gentle giant as something of a protector ever since I saw Monster Squad in 1987. Though I’m not at all familiar with the source material here, two things are certain: This Frankenstein will dress better than the original, and he will be surly as hell. (THR)
