The new Vacation will focus on a grown up Rusty Griswold, who will carry the torch his father passed by taking his own family to Wally World, with predictably disastrous results. Of course, the burning (and itching) question is: Who will play Rusty?

While Horrible Bosses wasn’t quite a blockbuster, its modest budget generated $117 million domestic, which is reason enough to really drive the bastard into the ground with a sequel.

No plot details are available, but considering how big a part the actual horrible bosses played in the original, expect some big casting announcements for those parts as things develop.

While this news doesn’t have me terribly excited, its putting a little more Charlie Day in my life, which is more than I can say for that stupid Abraham Lincoln movie Steven Spielberg is putting out.

Metropolis

Next time you want to complain about work, just remember how bad the “employees” in Fritz Lang’s science fiction classic Metropolis have it. They work like slaves in an underground civilization at the will of their wealthy overlords. The only entertainment they get is the occasional herky-jerky robot girl dance.

The Apartment

This movie will probably seem a bit truer to the real workplace experience than Metropolis. No robot girls here, just an environment in which getting ahead is more important than being a decent human being. In the case of CC Baxter, this means giving over the keys to his apartment to his bosses so they can use it to have sex with women who aren’t their wives. As if that wasn’t enough, Baxter’s in love with the elevator girl who’s in a toxic relationship with his horrible, sleazy (and married) boss. Bad work environment!

2001: A Space Odyssey

Traveling from Earth to the moon to various other points in space may be easy in 2001, but it’s still a pain in the ass. The toilet has a set of instructions with like 12 steps, and the “food” can all be drunk through a straw. Oh, and your boss is a homicidal computer with a creepy glowing red eye. Murdering your boss would be justified, in this case.

9 to 5

When the siren call of Dolly Parton’s chest lures Dabney Coleman to the jagged rocks of desire, he finds himself in a tough situation. Tired of his sexist and egotistical attitude, the secretary pool abducts him and holds him hostage. While in their capture, Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Parton institute some new practices around the office that up productivity. Which really isn’t that easy with Parton’s chest hanging around.

F.I.S.T.

When jerk bosses are treating their workers poorly and garnishing wages, there’s only one man who can lead the Federation of Interstate Truckers and fight for what is good and just. And that man is Sly Stallone. He’s like Norma Rae, but instead of holding a sign, he holds a pipe. He also uses a different definition of the word “strike.”

Clerks

Kevin Smith‘s breakthrough film addressed the drudgery of working retail. Filmed for $19 in his home state of New Jersey, it didn’t win any awards for acting. However, it was well-received by critics and audiences all the same due to Smith’s strong dialogue and bizarre cast of characters.

Judging by the 13% it’s currently receiving on Rotten Tomatoes, you should avoid this movie like Kevin James should avoid trans fats. And yes, I know fat jokes are easy, but that doesn’t make them any less funny.

Basically, this is a ghost story merged with a slasher film and sealed with Shutter Island twist. But at least Carpenter the spook-meister knows how to goose you.

About a chimpanzee who in the 1970s became the focus of a experiment which aimed to show that an ape could learn to communicate with language if raised and nurtured like a human child. So basically, the reverse of Tarzan.

Critics are loving this documentary, granting it a 95% thus far.

Nick (Jason Bateman), Dale (Charlie Day) and Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) all have lousy bosses. Harken (Kevin Spacey) demeans and overworks Nick. Julia (Jennifer Aniston) sexually harasses Dale (it’s funny because it’s not a man intimidating a woman). Bobby Pellit (Colin Farrell) is just coked-up and crazy.

You know Hollywood’s not going to make a movie about really killing your boss. Horrible Bosses at least has fun with three dorks exploring the underworld. Kurt especially makes continuous asides like he’s really reacting to the process of finding a hired killer. They’ve seen Strangers on a Train and Throw Mamma from a Train but apparently not 9 to 5, and you get some slapstick as they bumble through reconnaissance missions.

You know exactly where the story is going and it’s all to keep the heroes innocent and likeable. It’s pretty funny when Kurt plays petty pranks with Pellit’s toiletries. Dale has some good Charlie Day freak-outs. Bateman gets some good lines too so he’s not relegated to straight man. These three work together, and it’s kind of nice to see this generation’s reliable studio comedians emerge.

The bosses get to be extreme too. Spacey is basically doing Swimming with Sharks light, but Aniston really relishes saying the P word and talking about touching herself. If you have trouble imagining a man disliking Aniston’s advances, consider that Dale actually has a loving fiancée he wants to be faithful to. Or, remember that in real life, oversexed aggressive women don’t look like Jennifer Aniston.

I was going to compliment one twist on a standard cliché, but then they followed it up with the usual cliché so it would be a spoiler. I thought Horrible Bosses was a little funnier than Bad Teacher. If you’re hating on The Hangover Part II, at least they’re going somewhere with their formula. You’d rather have an “original” plotline that plays it safe? Well, at least I’ve gotten to see Rubber and Detention, so I can let these summer comedies coast.

My favorite part of the trailer is the appearance at the end from Wendell “William ‘Bunk’ Moreland” Pierce. I’m pretty excited to see this when it comes out on July 8th. I might even…kill to see it. Probably not, though.

Horrible Bosses sounds pretty fun. Directed by Seth Gordon (King of Kong), the film stars Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Day as three pals downtrodden by their terrible employers – Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell and Aniston – who they decide to kill. If you haven’t at least considered the possibility of beating your boss within an inch of his or her life, you are not an American.

Warner Bros. is taking the holiday as an opportunity to give you a glimpse of what they’ve got planned for 2011. How do you make the ensemble cast of Horrible Bosses even better? Throw in the "Old Spice Guy," of course.

Isaiah Mustafa, the star of the now legendary deodorant ads will reportedly play a cop in the upcoming comedy. Mustafa joins a list of Hollywood heavyweights, including Colin Farrell, Charlie Day, Jennifer Aniston, and Kevin Spacey, just to name a few.

Will the fact that Mustafa is the face of Old Spice create animosity with co-star Kevin Spacey, a well known Brut man? We’ll keep you posted (Cinema Blend).

Outside of her role in the Adam Sandler comedy Happy Gilmore, Actress Julie Bowen has focused mainly on television projects. But the success of her current show, "Modern Family," is breathing new life into her film career.

The Emmy nominated actress has signed on to play Kevin Spacey’s wife in the upcoming comedy ensemble, Horrible Bosses. Bowen is also slated to appear in Jumping the Broom, where she will play a stressed out wedding planner.

While she should be known as the "hot mom" on "Modern Family," Bowen’s co-star, Sofía Vergara, has relegated her to "normal mom" status. Despite the success of the show, it’s a good thing she’s branching out. The cast recently did an episode that took place in Hawaii. If the "Brady Bunch" and "Full House" are any indication, "Modern Family" is looking for a shark to jump. (Variety)

Kudos to Colin Farrell for going au naturale on the set of the new Seth Gordon-directed comedy horrible bosses. I always knew his hair was too thick and lustrous to be real. The combover does an awesome job of transforming him into a superior I’d like to stab in the ear with a Bic.

Horrible Bosses follows three friends who all have horrible bosses they want to end, so they decide to swap their murders like in that old Hitchcock flick Strangers on a Train. Netflix it, ya uncultured swine. The three guys are played by Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, and Charlie Day, and the bosses are Colin Farrell as coke head exec, Kevin Spacey as a master manipulator, and Jennifer Aniston as nymphomaniac dentist. Also, Jamie Foxx plays a scam artist named Motherfucker Jones, but I’m guessing you’re too busy imagining getting banged by Aniston in a dentist’s chair. (NYPost)

Last time I wrote about horrible bosses, I told you that at least two more big names were joining the film. Well, if you’d have listened to me and my warnings, you’d be a millionaire by now (somehow). Variety is reporting that Kevin Spacey is set to join the bizzaro cast, which already includes Charlie Day, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell, and Jason Bateman.

The film centers around three co-workers who decide to kill thei horrible bosses (hence the title), and Spacey will play one of the bosses in question. Given his previous work in Swimming with Sharks and Glengarry Glen Ross, he should have no problem with the role.

Just when I think I’ve wrapped my head around Horrible Bosses, it goes and throws me another curve ball.

The first name I heard assoicated with the film was Jennifer Aniston. That’s bad. But the next name I heard was Charlie Day from "Always Sunny." That’s good.

Then I heard Colin Farrell was joining the cast, and I was all like "Whaaaaaat?" But then Jason Bateman came on board, so I was back to "Yeeeeeeaaaah!"

But now comes word that Jamie Foxx is joining the film, and my head is about to explode from all the confusion. At first glance, the addition of Foxx to the cast seems like a bad sign. He hasn’t had a really good role since he won the Oscar in 2004 for Ray, and everybody knows he only won because the Academy wanted to give it to a blind guy. But on the other had, Cinema Blend is reporting that Foxx will play the role of a scam artist named Motherf*cker Jones. You don’t have to be a Foxx fan to appreciate a character named Motherf*cker.

But the confusion doesn’t stop there. Latino Review is reporting that “There will be at least two other big announcements in the next few weeks regarding other roles." Based on what I’ve seen so far, my money is on Carlos Mencia and Aziz Ansari.

When I heard that Jennifer Aniston had signed on to star in Horrible Bosses, I assumed that the film was going to be a real hunk of crap. But when I heard that Charlie Day from "It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is in talks to sign on, I was forced to reconsider. Throw Jason Bateman into the mix, and this film about three friends who plot to kill their bosses seems a lot more interesting.

Jason Bateman will play a man who believes his hard work will be rewarded but when he gets passed over for a promotion, he hits rock bottom. Charlie Day plays a hapless guy, always in the wrong place at the wrong time. A part still to be cast is a ladies’ man who is good at his job, but gets a rude awakening when his boss passes away and gets replaced.

Word on "the street" is that Colin Farrell will be playing said ladies’ man. I guess "the street" must read Collider.

Shocking news! Jennifer Aniston has decided to break the mold and step out of her comfort zone by taking on a role in a romantic comedy. Wanderlust, which was acquired by Universal Pictures, will be produced by Judd Apatow and will costar Apatow regular Paul Rudd.

Aniston and Rudd will play a married couple trying to escape the trappings of the city life for a counterculture existence.

Sounds amazing!

As if one groundbreaking role wasn’t enough, Aniston has also signed on to star in New Line Cinema’s Horrible Bosses, which is no doubt a dark psychological thriller. Either that, or another sh*tty comedy. (Deadline)

After several poisonous box office outings, Colin Farrell‘s project-picking finger could smell like sweet success for a change. Between his turn in Crazy Heart and Golden Globe win for In Bruges, he’s found his way back onto marquees. And the needless remake train as well.

Farrell has signed on to bite women in Craig Gillespie’s Fright Night as the new vampire in town, opposite Anton Yelchin and Toni Collette. After that, he’ll appear with computer love Paul Rudd in the comedy horrible bosses directed by Seth Gordon. He dropped out of two other projects in order to free up his schedule for these parts – one a Katherine Heigl bounty hunter movie and the other a rom-com directed by McG. Smart move.
