Henry Selick, director of Coraline, James and The Giant Peach, and The Nightmare Before Christmas, is working on another horror-tinged stop-motion animation film that will try to terrify children into post-traumatic stress. The movie will be called Shademaker, which is a pretty cool title, isn’t it? No word on the premise, but judging from that title, I’m guessing it will be about a murderous parasol who stalks its victims on particularly beautiful summer days. The market appears to be saturated with stop-motion horror these days, what with this and Guillermo del Toro‘s stop-motion Pinocchio that is also supposed to be a dark and scary look at the classic children’s tale.
