The folks at 20th Century Fox have picked up a horror script based upon the works of Edith Wharton, so naturally they’ve hired ~~Joe Wright~~ ~~AnthonyMinghella~~ Ben Stiller to direct. That’s right. Ben Stiller is attached to the period horror film, The Mountain. The story is based on Wharton’s Summer and follows a young woman who receives a mysterious brooch from a lover that forces her to look into her past.

Stiller will reunite with Reality Bites scripter Helen Childress for the Rosemary’s Baby-tinged project. There has been zero confirmation of Eddie Vedder‘s involvement from his camp. (Deadline)
