At least the producers of American Reunion are adding some more fresh eye candy into Universal’s penis-squashed new American Pie.

American Reunion takes place at the high school reunion of the original cast. If this succeeds at the box office, I guess the Naked Mile kids will get a direct to DVD reunion movie and I will feel old. Dania Ramirez (“Heroes”) will play Finch’s love interest Trisha in the latest entry to the series. (In a related note, remember Finch?) Trisha was an “ugly duckling” in school who grew into a superhot adult Knowing 90s teen movies, all she probably had to do was take off her glasses to be hot. I guess not all high school kids are lucky enough to be the subject of a bet.

Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg are writing and producing. Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott and Alyson Hannigan are all returning. (Variety)

‘American Reunion’ To Make Your Next Spring Break More Mediocre

Scream 4, I’m sure you’re all excited to see another best-in-the-90′s franchise return to the box office. Here’s the info on American Reunion‘s release date, so you know when to avoid the latest American Pie movie. No, this one’s not going straight to DVD.

Stiffler, band camps and pie sexing will all be back in theaters April 6, 2012. The first three were Summer releases, which makes me wonder if Universal thinks this pie will be tasty enough for blockbusterdom. However, on a high note (that’s gonna be a pun – wait for it), the film is being written and directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg of “Harold and Kumar” fame. (Note the word “high” earlier.)

The cast include a veritable who’s-who of actors who have nothing better going on, including Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Chris Klein, and American Pie All-Star Check Collector Eugene Levy. Other Pie alums are playing hard-to-get, but will almost certainly acquiesce, like Tara Reid and Mena Suvari. (TheWrap)

‘Harold & Kumar’ Creators Directing ‘American Pie 4′

Harlold & Kumar creators Hayden Schlossberg and Jon Kurwitz are moving from hamburgers to baked goods. The duo is mounting American Pie 4 as both writers and directors. That leaves directing duties on A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas to newcomer Todd Strauss Schulson.

The story for the latest Pie sequel is being kept under wraps, though I’m sure embarrassment, bizarre sexual fetishes, and Jim’s Dad will remain major components. None of the original cast has officially signed on yet, but extreme interest has been voiced. You don’t say? Should I go with a Jason Biggs, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Shannon Elizabeth, or Natasha Lyonne joke here… You know what, I’m gonna let it be. I’m sure the fact that the band camp girl is more prosperous than any of them is shameful enough. (THR)
