Lively has been flirting with the A-list for the past year or so, having gone “ugly” in The Town, cleverly disseminated nude pictures of herself to the masses (What the hell. It’s Friday. Here’s a link to the smoking-hot pics.), and jumped on board Oliver Stone‘s The Savages in her highest-profile role to date. Will this nascent project be the one that catapults her to superstardom? It’s hard to tell as this project has seemed to lose steam over the past year or so, but they could do a lot worse than Blake Lively. Ke$ha, for instance.

Lively would play Elizabeth, the star of the film, a Victorian young lady who enjoys impalin the walking dead as much as she does playing coy to Mr. Darcy.

While I don’t think Lively is a bad choice here, the selection doesn’t seem terribly inspired, as they are probably just going for the biggest name they can get. However, if attaching her gets production rolling on this film, good. Great. Splendid. She’s the best actress for the job, etc.

Now please start making the film.

Schwartz will direct and serve as producer under his Fake Empire banner with partner Stephanie Savage. This project comes on the heels of Fake Empire’s announcement that they had secured the rights to Au Revoir, Crazy European Chick, which is maybe, just maybe, another teen movie as well. Actually, it’s about a family that takes in an exchange student who takes in an exchange student who turns out to be an assassin. I wonder if she’ll fall in love with the host family’s awkward but goodhearted son!

Mr. Schwartz definitely has a type, though it seems, on the little information we have about both projects, that his theater fare is more broad and accessible than his TV shows about machiavellia high school juniors trying to “destroy” Blake Lively with needlessly complex plots. (Variety)

Michelle Pfeiffer, who’ll always be remem-purrrrrrred for her role as Lamia in 2007′s Stardust, was cast in the film Welcome To People. She’ll join Chris Pine, Olivia Wilde and Elizabeth Banks in a movie about a man (Pine) whose father dies. When he returns home, he uncovers a family secret. And the secret is… wait, I don’t know. The film starts shooting next week, so we’ve got a ways to wait.

Meanwhile, I’ve never seen a full episode of “Gossip Girl,” but there’s a British dude on it named Ed Westwick. So, yeah, that guy’s got a major supporting role in a cool sounding bio pic called J. Edgar, about the life of power-grabbing, cross-dressing FBI director J. Edgar Hoover. Leonardo DiCaprio plays Hoover, and Westwick plays the straight-laced FBI agent who ends up writing his biography. DiCaprio gave an awesome performance in Catch Me If You Can, so you don’t need to tap our phones to know we’re intrigued by this project. (Deadline)

Leighton Meester plays a bad teen on TV’s Gossip Girl, but in real life she’s just your average prudish twenty-something. At least that’s what all the quotes from her say. This seems perfectly believable if you forget that she has a sex tape.

A word from Leighton: “When you move from Florida to New York, you’re in for a big shock.”

I know, right?! You can get a pastrami sandwich any time of the night! But other than that they’re almost exactly the same.

Blake Lively is best known for her role on Gossip Girl. She comes from a showbiz family. She is the youngest of five children, all of whom are actors. They’re like the Baldwins, but slimmer and less gravely-voiced.

A word from Blake: “I don’t want to go to a club and not wear panties.”

If you want to jump to the head of the line you’ll make the sacrifice. And SJ writer Wookie Johnson will thank you for it.

Where You’ve Seen Her: If you are a man that has had a girlfriend within the past two or so years (or are just particularly interested in scandalous primetime soap operas), you’ve probably seen Leighton Meester on TV’s "Gossip Girl."  If you are a man that has had no girlfriend or affliction for girly shows recently, you might remember her as the smoking hot virgin pop star Justine Chapin on "Entourage."  Soon most every guy will probably know her from her highly touted sex tape, which reportedly features her using her feet in creative ways.  What a novel concept!
