We can also all agree that Google is pretty great. Which is why it’s my pleasure to inform everyone (that hasn’t read any business magazines over the past month or so) that Google is getting into the TV and ISP business. They’re giving it a go first in Kansas City, then, hopefully, the rest of the US, by laying down their own fiber optic cables that link straight up to their massive server operation in Iowa.

Those servers will act as a gigantic DVR for users, as well as a conduit for streaming live TV and Internet service. Yay!

With the complacency and shitty customer service provided by the current cartel, it’s very nice to hear that a new, non-compromised company will be stepping in to change the game or at least keep the other guys working for our business.

Plus, it’s just a matter of time before Google lets us download cute, furry puppies right into our houses. Double yay!

Ok, maybe this does not make google plus easier

First, there’s Google plus Circles which are like votes for individual people in the same way links are a “vote” for websites. This allows Google to better understand who the really cool kids are that everyone follows.

Second you have Google plus Sparks to consider which is essentially a database of each of your particular interests, like watching movies…

Finally you have the the plus 1 button which is a basic way of saying this website is cool, or by not hitting the button you can this website is shite.

With that in mind here are a few film sites we think you should be hitting +1 on, besides of course, our site!  Keep the web clear of crap, and have a more enjoyable film experience – nothing wrong with that.

Boofi .net: Boofi is a new resource that let’s you rate and share your favorite films in a new and interesting way. Everything revolves around charts where you place the posters for your favorite films. You can place everything manually, in the way that you see fit. Whenever you watch any movie that knocks you off your feet then you can simply add its poster to your chart, and give it the prominence that you see fit.

Cuethat .com:  Cue That This is a browser plugin, which allows you to select a movie title on any webpage and send that movie directly to your Netflix queue.  This way the next time you read about a cool movie on Screenjunkies, just hit a button on your browser and boom – right into your netflix cue.

Inveni .com:   Inveni is an entertainment focused discovery engine will suggest new TV shows and movies after completing an extensive analysis of your existing tastes. On your first visit to the site you will create a “Taste Profile” that will enable Inveni to come up with highly-personalized recommendations.  In addition to these recommendations that are based on your universal tastes, the site lets you interact with your friends from all over the Social Web. You will be able to suggest movies to each other, and also to discuss the ones that you have seen in a centralized way.

MrMovieTimes.com:  MrMovieTimes.com is a peaceful oasis stuck between the endless war between Fandango and Movie Tickets .com.  While the two giants in the space try to guide you towards movie theaters where they can make a quick fifty cents off of a ticket sale, this site provides unbiased listings for all theaters.

Soundboard .com:  “Hamsters on a plane!”  If this sounds like something you might say check out soundboard.  They have a great collection of celebrity quotes that you can easily pull up and prevent yourself from looking like an ass at your next party.  Sites like Soundboard face a lot of competition from useless spam sites, so do the web a favor and add a google plus 1 to these guys, along with everyone else on the list.

Whatever you think of the web, we think Google Plus can become a tool to make the Internet a better place.  At a minimum it makes way more sense than say creating a 51st state!

Since tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day, it makes sense that people are searching for holiday recipes. It would also make perfect sense if people were searching for the 1997 film, St. Patrick’s Day, as well as the T.V. movie, Recipe for Disaster, starring John Larroquette and Lesley Ann Warren. After all, nothing says St. Patrick’s day like John Larroquette, AM I RIGHT?

Tibetan Mastiff

Some people are going to tell you that “Tibetan Mastiff” is trending because some super rich dude in China just paid a boat load of money for one of the dogs. Don’t believe the hype. Obviously, Brad Pitt’s Seven Years in Tibet is making a resurgence in popularity, as is the character of Professor Daniel Mastiff from the 2008 classic, Bonekickers. God I love Bonekickers.

Seann William Scott

Hooray! This actually pertains to our site, since Seann William Scott is an actor! On the same day that production of the next American Pie sequel (American Reunion) was announced, Seann William Scott went into rehab for undisclosed issues. We’re hoping he gets the help he needs. We’re also hoping he reunites with Ashton Kutcher for Dude, Where’s My Methadone…No Seriously, There Are Bugs Under My God Damn Skin.

Bracket Predictions

Last but not least, people are searching heavily for “bracket predictions,” an obvious reference to George Logan and Patrick Fyffe’s comedy routine, “Hinge and Bracket,” in which the British comedians dressed as old women and sang songs. Well here’s a prediction; the pair are never coming back because Patrick Fyffe is dead. There. Are you happy?

Google knows everything. In fact, Google is so smart, it can actually answer your question before you’ve asked it by examining previous questions asked by millions of other people. The future is now! It’s a future ruled by machines, but a future none the less!

We decided to utilize this feature to find out what Google (and more importantly, what Internet users) really want to know about their favorite celebrities. The results were somewhat predictable, but disturbing all the same. We weeded out the repetitive answers, as it tuns out every celebrity alive is suspected of being either gay or Jewish. We also left out Richard Gere, because the man has been through enough of this shit.
