He should have been in the episode about Abed and the chicken fingers.

…and his face looks a lot better than the last time I saw it.

Giancarlo Esposito, better known as “Gus Fring from Breaking Bad” will be taking his recent celebrity to Greendale in an upcoming episode of Community. His role is supposed to be kept secret, but this being the information age, we’ve got most of the details for you.

Hit Fix has offered this much up:

I can tell you that he plays Gilbert, a long-time employee of Pierce’s late, very racist father Cornelius Hawthorne, and that he presents Pierce and the rest of the study group with a challenge related to Cornelius’ inheritance.

Sure. Why not? That sounds nice enough. Community does a great job of leveraging its guest stars purposefully, as opposed to 30 Rock, which just seems to randomly put Kelsey Grammer in every other episode alongside Jerry Seinfeld.

Esposito joins an eclectic roster this season that includes Luis Guzman, Michael Kenneth Williams, and John Good-Man. Excuse me. John “Goodman.”
