If anything, it makes Cabin in the Woods all the more awesome. This being the dead serious take on the satire, it seems to follow the same beats as the first two acts of Cabin, only to leave us with the same question that film asked: why? Why do we watch this stuff? Especially right before lunch on National Food Day nonetheless. Get those tacos away from me!!

That’s why it looks like Jeffrey Dean Morgan will have to think on his feet when he stars in Dibbuk Box. The movie stars Morgan as a recently-divorced dad who notices strange behavior in his daughter after she buys an antique box from a yard sale. The heirloom turns out to be a box built to imprison a dibbuk – a spirit from Jewish folklore that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host. In other words, it’s a total jerk.

The Sam Raimi-produced Ghost House film will fill Lionsgate‘s Halloween release slot left empty by the now completed Saw series. Look for it on DVD and Blu-ray in time for Hanukkah. (Variety)

Sam Raimi is looking to pay homage to one of the great horror classics. With the help of Mandate Pictures, Raimi has set up The Day Of The Triffids at Ghost House with the intention to direct. A partial basis for 28 Days Later, Triffids tells the story of a man who awakes to find that London has been stricken blind and overrun by intelligent, carnivorous plants.

This sounds awesome. They should move the remake to Detroit. That place is already a wasteland. Just make sure not to film anything remotely Motown. You’re already going to get enough Little Shop Of Horrors comparisons as is. (Deadline)

Have you seen this man? Well, people across the world have seen him randomly in their dreams and I don’t just mean ladies looking for a good time. Deadline reports that Bryan Bertino (The Strangers) is teaming up with Sam Raimi‘s Ghost House Pictures to bring this man’s story to the screen.

In This Man, the protagonist learns that he has been appearing in the nightmares of complete strangers. Ghost House has purchased the rights to www.thisman.org, a real website created by an Italian sociologist who has been tracking this real-life phenomenon. Insiders are referring to it as "a hair raising story that will be sure to delight horror fans.”
