However, a big drawback to being famous is that you can’t always do only what you want all of the time. Like on flights. They expect you to follow the rules to which every other passenger must adhere. If you don’t, you get kicked off the flight like some kind of minority. Total bullsh*t!

These six poor celebrities know these frustrations all too well.

Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin was rudely interrupted by an American Airlines flight attendant who had the nerve to try to attend to the flight. Baldwin was caught up in a tense “Words with Friends” game at the time and simply could not put down his video game. After throwing a tantrum in the bathroom, he was removed from the flight, causing major delays for the other passengers. The nerve of some people. What’s really important here is that Alec Baldwin did not suffer an embarrassing “Words with Friends” defeat at the hands of Steve Martin.

Leisha Hailey

The L Word actress was kicked off a Southwest flight when other travelers complained about her kissing her girlfriend. Hailey claims she was discriminated against because she was kissing a member of the same sex. But Southwest maintains the decision was made because the kissing had gotten to be excessive. It’s hard to choose a side on this. I’m going to need to review the tape in private for about ten minutes before I can make my ruling.

Anthropomorphic nose and sometimes-actor Gerard Depardieu took the liberty of using his plane’s cabin as a toilet, pissing on the ground when he knew very well that is not something grown-ups should do.

While the flight was delayed on the tarmac, Depardieu asked to use the restroom, but was told that he had to remain seated until they reached cruising altitude. Never one to take “remain seated until they reached cruising altitude” for an answer, ole’ Gerry went ahead and whizzed on the floor, a move that enabled him to both empty his bladder and offer a poignant indictment on the state of air travel the world over. But mostly just the pissing thing.

Since this is a movie site, I feel obligated to mention that Gerard Depardieu played Christopher Columbus in the film 1492: Conquest of Paradise, as well as Katherine Heigl’s dad in My Father the Hero. The news in question is that Gibson has joined up with a heist comedy directed by Brad Mirman entitled Sleight of Hand which is also set to star Kiefer Sutherland, Gerard Depardieu, Thomas Jane, and Jon Lovitz, all of whom I guess could jump off a bridge and Mel Gibson would too. Here’s the plot synopsis, which will make all of Mel Gibson’s loved ones feel sad:

“[A] crew of small time crooks in Paris, who end up possessing a rare gold coin belonging to a notorious French gangster. The leader of the crew calls his uncle (Depardieu), a retired criminal, to help them raise the money to repay the gangster. The series of mix-ups and double crosses culminate as the gangs are pit face to face, chasing through Paris.”

It’s not clear yet exactly what Gibson’s role in the movie will be, but it will undoubtedly feature the formerly nice young man being up to no good. (Variety)
