How great would it be if the ‘Night of the Living Dead’ guy directed a ‘Walking Dead’ episode? Eh. Not that great, really.

Review: ‘Survival of the Dead’
Friday, May 28 by

Survival of the Dead R, 90m., 2010 Cast: Kathrine Munroe, Kenneth Welsh, Richard Fitzpatrick, Devon Bostwick and Alan Van Sprang Written and Directed by George A. Romero   Survival of the Dead is so cartoonish, that you wouldn’t be surprised to see the cast of Looney Tunes popping out of nowhere and blasting away some Zombies.   Marking his 6th official journey into the world of the undead, legendary filmmaker George A. Romero, creates a hybrid Z-picture that can be decribed as part Western, part cartoon, and part iconclastic horror movie.MORE OF THE REVIEW AFTER THE JUMP.

George Romero Would Like to Try His Hand at Zombie Films
Tuesday, May 11 by

I don't want to beat a dead horse by making a "beating an undead horse" joke about Geroge Romero, but Jesus H. Christ! He's making it very hard not to.Although Romero's sixth zombie film, Survival of the Dead, hasn't even hit theaters yet, the legendary director is already talking about two more installments. In a recent interview, Romero said he would like to shoot the films back to back and that "returning for two more entries would feel like home to him."I'd like to point out that to experience something that "feels like home" you would actually have to leave home first. But at any rate, shooting the films back to back is probably a good idea, considering Romero is 70. If this goes on much longer, the undead films are going to need an undead director…because he'll be dead. Get it? Yeah you do. (First Showing)

‘Survival of the Dead’ Red-Band Trailer Finally Gets Around to Shooting a Zombie With a Flare Gun
Tuesday, March 30 by

Parents groups are up in arms over the growing popularity of red-band trailers and the ease with which children are able to access them. What they need to do is face the fact that red-band trailers are awesome and it's growing much harder to monitor their kids due to the Internet's reach. This battle is lost parents. You should just focus on being "cool parents" and pop the corn, kick back, and check out this second red-band trailer for George Romero's Survival of the Dead. It's not that explicit except for all the blood and guts and stuff. Also, a zombie rides a horse. Sidenote: Here we are in the year 2010 and Romero has six Living Dead movies under his belt and he's only now breaching shooting zombies with a flare gun territory. Now that's an artist who knows how to keep things fresh. Win the adoration of your gore-loving children after the jump.

‘Survival of the Dead’ Red Band Teaser Has Hot Dogs
Thursday, March 4 by

Zombies getting killed by hot dogs now? The walking dead are getting weak as sh*t. Next thing you know our pees-pees will do the trick, they'll be an outbreak of zombie murder-rape, and then legal types will start talking about "equal rights." It's never worked before and it certainly won't work after an apocalypse. On that note, the red band teaser for George Romero's Survival of the Dead hit the Internetz today. What are the zombies doing in this one, you ask? On an island off the coast of North America, local residents simultaneously fight a zombie epidemic while hoping for a cure to return their un-dead relatives back to their human state. Amazing! How do they keep breathing new life into this dead concept?! Hey, if you don't like my schtick my mom will reimburse you. Salivate at the sight of the red band trailer after the jump.

New ‘The Crazies’ Trailer Looks Certifiable
Saturday, December 12 by

I don't know about you, but I think that off-screen guy looks crazy. The new trailer for The Crazies, starring Timothy Olyphant and Radha Mitchell, has mixed into the web like tainted drinking water, and I'm digging the funny taste. We showed you the first trailer a couple months back of the Breck Eisner remake of the cult George Romero film. The new one has plenty shots of Olyphant offering stupified looks and zombie people jumping at the camera while the music goes DUM! As you may or may not choose to remember, Breck Eisner directed the film Sahara starring Matthew "Shirts Iritate My Skin" McConaughey, so while The Crazies may not live up to those terrifying results, it looks scary nonetheless. The film is about the inhabitants of a small Iowa town suddenly plagued by insanity and then death after a mysterious toxin contaminates their water supply. Overall, it sounds like an amalgamation of Erin Brockovich and Christmas dinner at my mom's house. The Crazies infests theaters February 26th. Check out the trailer after the jump.

‘Survival of the Dead’ Promo Trailer
Monday, November 2 by

Thanks to the folks at Bloody Disgusting, we get a sneak peak at George Romero's latest attempt to breathe more life into the zombie horror genre (pun blatantly intended). There's everything you'd expect in the trailer below: zombies, humans, guns, brains, stilted dialogue. We don't watch these films for the breakthrough performances though, we watch them because we feel compelled to on the off chance that something blows our brains out of our skull (oh man the puns are so goooood)! Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think. Is Survival of the Dead going to be better than Land of the Dead?
