Fans of Louie now know the deep pang that Tom Petty so eloquently captured in “The Waiting.”

FX has placed the well-received sitcom on hiatus until May of 2014. But before you fly into bouts of rage toward the network, know that they are only honoring Louis C.K.‘s wishes. The comedian has total autonomy over the show and feels he needs that time to preserve any quality. Especially now that Fake Louie Episodes has called him out so well. Says C.K.:

“The last three seasons have been this surge of fun and work and stories and it’s been great, but I want the show to keep getting better,” Louis C.K. said in a conference call with reporters today. “That’s my goal, and I don’t want it to be making the donuts, I want it to be something that comes from somewhere important and stays funny. It’s a luxury I asked for … season four is my job right now, but I’m going to take a whole lot of time to turn it in.

“I want season four to go somewhere new, even if it’s only a slight shift.”

Like having his character be slightly balder and doughier, for instance.

But still, 2014 is a long time from now. A really long time. So many things can happen and change in that time. We could outgrow the tone of the show. Or the economy could take a dive, changing how we watch television. I’m not a betting man, but I wouldn’t bet on seeing Doug Stanhope return to guest star. (Variety)

After seven seasons and several twisted adventures, the cast of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia have decided to hang it up and move on. Or they were fired. Depends who you ask.

However, don’t worry about missing the loveable screw-ups at Paddy’s Pub. The original actors have all been replaced and we doubt you’ll even notice the difference. Haley Osment as Mac, Xzibit as Sweet Dee, Andrew Dice Clay as Frank, UFC Fighter Chael Sonnen as Dennis, and Candace Cameron as Charlie. Throw in Alan Tudyk as Rickety Cricket and we’re in business.

FX has announced their summer line-up and it looks like another summer will pass without my getting a tan.

“Wilfred” premieres June 23rd at 10pm. The story follows a super-depressed Elijah Wood as he befriends his neighbor’s dog, whom for some reason only he can see as a man in a dog suit. Well, we can also see him as a man in a dog suit. Does that mean we’re all super-depressed?

“Louie” comes back for a second season of getting pissed off at things directly after “Wilfred” at 10:30pm.

And “Rescue Me” returns for its final season at 10pm on July 12th. After that, Adam Ferrara will be absent from television until the next time that Denis Leary has a show. (THR)

It's the closest we'll ever get to a Charlie Sheen reality show.

Pills, cigarettes, sex dolls, and holes dug in the backyard. No, it’s not a Charlie Sheen reality show. It’s actually a promo for the comedy that FX saved from the wilds of Australia. Elijah Wood stars in “Wilfred,” a show about a guy and a dog except the dog is actually played by a guy in a dog suit but everyone who is not Elijah Wood sees a normal dog instead of a guy in a suit. So, like, when the guy in the dog suit smokes or uses a shovel, do non-Elijah Woods see a dog with a cigarette in its mouth or shovel in its paws? And what about the bipedal walking thing?

You gotta hand it to him though, Elijah Wood does make a great John Arbuckle.

Lucky Louie: FX Orders Second Season from Louie C.K. http://www.screenjunkies.com/tv/tv-news/lucky-louie-fx-orders-second-season-from-louie-c-k/ http://www.screenjunkies.com/tv/tv-news/lucky-louie-fx-orders-second-season-from-louie-c-k/#comments Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 It looks like the second time's the charm for comedian Louie C.K. Collider is reporting that FX has renewed his show, "Louie", for another 13 episode season. After striking out with his first sitcom, "Lucky Louie", C.K. has found a winning formula. Although "Louie" has been uneven and somewhat clunky, it seems to be getting better as it goes along. Besides, the show could consist of Louie C.K. sh*tting on a bunch of war orphans, and it would still be funnier than 99.9% of the crap on TV.
