Master thespian Jonathan Knoxville is taking time off from his practice of prankery and buffoonism to follow his heart’s passion — ACTING!

The irreproachable mimic has added his name to the dramatis personae of Josh Schwartz‘s upcoming Fun Size. He’ll be joined by Victoria Justice, Thomas Mann, Jane Levy, Thomas Middleditch, Thomas McDonell, Osric Chau, Jackson Nicoll, Ana Gasteyer, Josh Pence, Holmes Osborne, James Pumphrey, Willam Belli and Peter Navy Tuiasosopo in the Halloween adventure/comedy.

'Jackass 3D' Trailer Justifies 3D Technology

The story is centered around a sarcastic teen who loses her younger brother while trick-or-treating and must recover him before their mother finds out. We’ll see just how far that sarcasm gets her when Johnny Knoxville convinces her to fire a bottle rocket out of her butt. (Bloody Disgusting)

I don’t know who all these young, whipper-snapping, hair-whipping, Twitter actors are coming from. The Hunger Games is full of teen actors I ain’t never heard of, and now we’ve got this girl Jane Levy, who’s negotiating to star as a lead teen in Josh Schwartz‘s feature debut Fun Size. Can’t they just slap a little makeup on Tiffani Thiessen? She’d be fine.

Levy has appeared on Showtime’sShameless” and filmed a pilot for ABC called “Suburgatory.” If you don’t get Showtime and aren’t an ABC executive, you’ll just have to take my word for it. She would play the best friend of Victoria Justice. In the film, Justice stars as a sarcastic teen who loses her little brother while trick-or-treating. I suppose the greatest treat of all is somehow losing an annoying little brother forever, unless your mom and dad cared about their little boy, and then it would just make for an awkward conversation later that evening.

Schwartz will also produce Fun Size with Stephanie Savage. (Hollywood Reporter)

Now she's the lead in 'Fun Size'.

If I was many years younger, I might know more about teen actress Victoria Justice. She stars in the Nickelodeon series “Victorious,” which was never part of the Snick line-up, so I’m drawing a blank. Now Victoria is set to star in the new Josh Schwartz film Fun Size, a Halloween comedy written by Max Werner (“Colbert Report“).

So far, it sounds like this movie is being made entirely by TV folk. Schwartz (“The OC,” “Chuck”) has never directed a film before. Will he lose control of the set, like Justice’s character loses her little brother while trick-or-treating? I guess we’ll find out if he starts knocking on trailers, looking for his mommy.

Paramount plans to start shooting this Spring. (Hollywood Reporter)

Hey, Little Boy, Want Some Candy And A Role In A Josh Schwartz Movie? http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/movie-news/hey-little-boy-want-some-candy-and-a-role-in-a-josh-schwartz-movie/ http://www.screenjunkies.com/movies/movie-news/hey-little-boy-want-some-candy-and-a-role-in-a-josh-schwartz-movie/#comments Sat, 19 Feb 2011 01:32:04 +0000 Geoffrey Golden http://www.screenjunkies.com/?p=28896 Ready to jump from making TV shows about teens to making movies about teens, writer/producer Josh Schwartz ("Gossip Girl") will make his feature debut with the Halloween comedy 'Fun Size'.

Ready to jump from making TV shows about teens to making movies about teens, writer/producer Josh Schwartz (“Gossip Girl,”The OC”) will make his feature debut with the Halloween comedy Fun Size for Paramount. He has a script by Max Werner (“The Daily Show”), a ton of candy and an unmarked van. Now to cruise around Hollywood, kidnap a kid and turn him into a star. Actually, Schwartz is going the traditional/somewhat-less-creepy route of auditioning.

Are you 8-years-old, 16-years-old, or 28-years old with a ton of rosy cheek make-up and a backpack? Then you can audition. Here’s what they’re looking for:

ALBERT: 8 years old, with chubby cheeks. Albert is undeniably a strange but intriguing little boy, combining childlike ways (like love of anything sugar) with unnerving adult habits (he’s unbeatable on the videogame “Aggravated Assault,” precocious, and is unflappable – even ingenious – in a crisis). He does not speak until the end of the movie. (LEAD)

STUART: 16 years old. Born and raised in the United States. Stuart is of Asian, East Indian or Middle Eastern descent. Slight in build, Stuart is a kid who talks twice his size. Obsessed with sci-fi and comic books, he is the co-captain of the debate team with his best friend, Roosevelt. (LEAD)

More info on actually auditioning here. Remember, backwards baseball caps make anyone look 16, even if they have an obvious 5 o’clock shadow.

The film is about a teenage girl who loses her little brother while trick-or-treating. It’s supposed to be like Superbad meets Adventures In Babysitting, the combination of which I can get behind. (ComingSoon)

Josh Schwartz has made a good living refusing to do any work that acknowledges the existence of any people over the age of twenty. It looks like the Gossip Girl/The O.C. creator is taking that ethos with him in his big screen debut, a teen comedy entitled Fun Size. Fun Size follows a girl around as she takes her little brother out to go trick-or-treating, then loses him, prompting zany hijinks that may or may not include toilet paper and garden hoses.

Schwartz will direct and serve as producer under his Fake Empire banner with partner Stephanie Savage. This project comes on the heels of Fake Empire’s announcement that they had secured the rights to Au Revoir, Crazy European Chick, which is maybe, just maybe, another teen movie as well. Actually, it’s about a family that takes in an exchange student who takes in an exchange student who turns out to be an assassin. I wonder if she’ll fall in love with the host family’s awkward but goodhearted son!

Mr. Schwartz definitely has a type, though it seems, on the little information we have about both projects, that his theater fare is more broad and accessible than his TV shows about machiavellia high school juniors trying to “destroy” Blake Lively with needlessly complex plots. (Variety)
