Anyway, Whitaker didn’t find his preferred yogurt so opted to leave the store. At this point, the store clerk accused him of shoplifting and asked him to submit to a frisking. The actor complied but was, according to his publicist, “troubled” by this action. When the clerk discovered he’d accused an innocent man of stealing, he apologized profusely and offered free food in exchange for not calling the cops. Solid plan, deli bro.

Whitaker’s publicist issued the following statement to the the New York Daily News, “”This was an upsetting incident given the fact that Forest did nothing more than walk into the deli. Forest asked that, in the future, the store change their behavior and treat the public in a fair and just manner.”

The deli maintains that the accusations of their employee were not racially-motivated and have apologized sincerely, but I think we all learned a real lesson here. That lesson is that right now is the perfect time to shoplift from Milano Market.

According to an interview with Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker (director of the original) is hard at work on a sequel to Waiting to Exhale, based on author Terry McMillan’s follow-up, Getting to Happy. The story picks back up on Savannah, Bernadine, Robin and Gloria 15 years later, dancing around better-appointed kitchens, now listening to Willow Smith, and maybe sexting.

The original followed the lives of four thirty-something black women as they tried to find their way in the world while juggling romantic entanglements. I’m guessing that, 15 years later, they are all completely happy in idealistic, comfortable relationships, completely devoid of cheatin’ dogs and sass. I’m just playin’. How lame of a movie would that be?

If this movie does come to fruition, perhaps it can bring back the days of awesome hip-hop and R&B soundtracks, including, but not limited to: Boomerang, Mo’ Money, Ho Stella Got Her Groove Back, and Soul Food. These days, we just get Tyler Perry films where he plays a big fat grandmother. And he wasn’t even the tenth guy to do that.

Should the pieces come together this sequel will hand America a big, heapin’ dose of Whitney Houston (the original Charlie Sheen). It’s been about 10 years since she went batshit crazy, smoking crack and assaulting her husband, Bobby Brown (who was the original Chris Brown (no relation)).

It’s like Whitney said on the soundtrack: “Shoop, shoop.”

So it sounds like a little bit of The Untouchables, with a little, I dunno, Training Day or something mixed in. _{Jude Law gets his organ worked on.}

A red band trailer for Repo Men has been released, and for a movie centered around organ removal, it doesn’t disappoint. You get Jude Law removing organs, Forest Whitaker removing organs, and a team of doctors… removing organs! The only person who isn’t reaching into an orifice is Liev Schrieber, the reason being his hands are perpetually unsterile. How Naomi Watts stands it, I’ll never know.

Universal decided to take Repo Men from its shelf of Movies We Don’t Want To Release, dust it off, and release it. It tells of a near future when human life spans have been greatly extended by expensive artificial organs created by a company called The Union. When people fail to make their payments for a fancy new liver or other piece of their gut, a team of surgical operatives are sent out to reclaim The Union’s property. The film follows two of these guys, played by Jude Law and Forest Whitaker. (via /Film) 

I have trouble suspending my disbelief in regards to Jude Law as an action star and anyone giving Forest Whitaker a license to cut people open when they have no way on knowing what he sees through that one weird eye. Maybe it zooms in on stuff.
