First Trailer For Netflix’s ‘Hemlock Grove’ Is Really Murdery

In its bid to establish itself as a rival to HBO, Netflix is releasing another original series that we can binge-cram into our eyeballs. On the heels of last month’s successful release of House Of Cards comes Hemlock Grove; a new horror series produced by famed gross-ass Eli Roth, who also directed the pilot and two-part finale. The story begins after a brutal murder. The two suspects: Peter Rumancek, a 17-year-old Gypsy trailer trash kid rumored to be a werewolf, and Roman, the heir to the Godfrey estate. To clear their names, the two team up to find the actual killer.

The entire series will be made available on April 19th so much sure the gulch in your couch cushion is comfortable for hours on end. The series stars Famke Janssen (the X-Men trilogy) and Bill Skarsgard (sounds like the name of the guy on True Blood) and whoever that bald girl pushing her wig back is. At first I thought she was Christina Ricci.

Much in the same way that John McClane continues to have extremely bad days that involve having to thwart all manner of terrorist, it now looks like Liam Neeson’s Bryan Mills is doomed to have to deal with kidnapping over and over and over again. In this trailer for Taken 2, he and the family take a vacation to Istanbul. But before they can take in the food and culture, they’re attacked by the dad of the bad guys from the first film. Jeez. You electrocute one Albanian sex trafficker to dust and indiscriminately murder the rest of his ring and suddenly YOU’RE the bad guy.

If those sex traffickers had real dads, this vacation would have gone off without a hitch.

Peter Stormare Inevitably Cast In ‘Hansel & Gretel’

It was only a matter of time before Peter Stormare‘s agent got the call. The instantly recognizable character actor has proven himself in comedies like The Big Lebowski and the Frogger episode of “Seinfeld,” while also turning up in gritty fairy tale updates like Th Brothers Grimm.

In Tommy Wirkola‘s Hansel & Gretel, Stormare will play Berringer, a crooked town sheriff. Which means he’ll likely end up being double-crossed by the witches. It always goes that way for those guys.

All in all, the cast is rounding out nicely. The only X factor here is Jeremy Renner‘s comedic chops. The only comedy on his resume in National Lampoon’s Senior Trip and the fact that you’re saying to yourself, “There was a National Lampoon’s Senior Trip,” speaks to the yuckfest that film turned out to be. ‘Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters’ Lines Up A Victim

Norwegian actress Ingrid Bolsø Berdal has joined the cast of Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters according to some guy. A reader has tipped off Bloody Disgusting that Berdal will play a witch in the upcoming film and her character will be a “hardcore killing machine.”

She’ll join Famke Janssen, who was previously cast as the leader of the witches, and Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as the titular heroes. I’m not certain where the reader got this info and nothing official has been reported as of yet, so keep that in mind before you start telling strangers on the street that there’s a person named Ingrid Bolsø Berdal and she’ll be playing a witch in a film. You really want to make sure you have your facts straight before you start approaching strangers. Otherwise, you’ll just look silly in your bathrobe.

Famke Janssen Joins The Witch Hunt

We haven’t seen too much her since she let her daughter chase U2 around Europe and subsequently get sold into sex-slavery in Taken, but that is about to change. Famke Janssen has joined the cast of Tommy Wirkola‘s Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters as the leader of the witches.

The film follows Gemma Arterton and Jeremy Renner as adult-versions of Hansel and Gretel. With their gingerbread house nightmare behind them, they’ve now dedicated their lives to the hunting down and destruction of witches.

This casting works for me. I could watch Famke all day long. And I still would be if that judge hadn’t stepped in with his stupid robe and gavel and blah, blah, court-ordered something or other. (Playlist)
