A word from Eva: “The celebrity world can be so ugly. Everyone seems to have slept with everyone else and it’s some sort of strange weird cycle.”

The second trailer for Last Night introduces us again to Worthington and his wifey played by Keira Knightley as they are confronted by extra-marital temptation on the same night. Worthington, by Eva Mendes. Knightley, by some weird, sophisticated guy that only girls like Keira Knightley would be into. I hope they don’t cheat on one another and get a divorce. They’re offspring is our only hope for seeing a Pirates Of The Caribbean Part 27.

The director is finally dusting off his sci-fi caper film, now with the clever name “untitled Moon project,” which has been lingering at Paramount after a jump from Dreamworks in 2007. After rewrites by top screenwriters like Simon Kinberg (Sherlock Holmes), and now that Liman’s All You Need Is Kill is getting killed for lack of momentum at Warner Bros, Liman is ready to round up actors for a good old fashioned space heist.

For the male lead, Limon’s met with Andrew Garfield, Emile Hirsch and Chris Pine. Of course, Chris Pine has spaceperience (space experience) as Star Trek‘s Captain Kirk, but I’m sure Spider-Man‘s been to space a bunch of times. No biggie. Jake Gyllenhaal used to be attached, but he ain’t no more.

Here’s the plot:

The story centers on a renegade group of former space employees, led by an Eastern European woman, who travel the world, stealing space equipment in an attempt to go back to the moon to acquire an energy source. The last item to steal — or in this case, kidnap — is an ex-NASA employee.

You’ve got to hand it to them – if you’re a criminal, what better place is there to escape to than the moon? It’s very unlikely the police will follow you in a squad rocket. Then again, how do you inconspicuously re-enter the earth’s atmosphere? (Hollywood Reporter)

And for whatever reason, these parts are being sought by a variety of actresses in Hollywood. For the first part, the one originated by Sharon Stone, Kate Bosworth and Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds) are said to be reading. For the second part, real love-interest, has Eva Mendes and Paula Patton rumored to be interested. Keep in mind this is all just rumor, and these names aren’t the only ones in contention for these parts. The article at Deadline also mentions Eva Green and Jessica Biel. So, yeah, if you’re looking for a way to impress girls, stage a remake of a Phillip K. Dick adaptation from years ago. Blade Runner would make the chicks go wild!

It looks pretty good, even Worthington, who I’m used to seeing looking stoic while jumping around in front of video game characters. Cool that he’s doing some actual acting for a change. (via The Playlist)

The film concerns a single mother (Mendes), whose thirteen year old daughter embarks on a teenage rite of passage in order to change her life. The production is being mounted under the Lionsgate-Pantelion deal, whose aim is to produce upwards of ten films per year for the Spanish speaking population of North America. “From the wife of the guy who brought you Transporter 2…”

Beatrice Leterrier, wife of Clash of the Titans director Louis Leterrier, is set to direct a dramedy about a family who has to deal with “the awful memories of a tragic event that occurred 20 years ago.” From that description, it doesn’t sound like there will be as many gunfights, explosions and Hulks as her husbands’ movies, so anyone going in looking for big action will surely be disappointed. However, Eva Mendes is attached to star, and that’s something her husband’s fanbase might enjoy.

Actually, although this is Mrs. Leterrier first feature, we’re sure she’s not depending on her husband that much at all. She’s got a lot of directing experience from shooting commercials and videos in Europe. Of course, if the tragic event in the family’s past is grandpa getting infected with a time-sensitive virus, we’ll know whose note that was. (Collider)

It seems a little convenient that the Eva Mendes sex tape just happened to hit the internet the very week her film The Other Guys opens in theaters. I feel like she’s been keeping this one in her pocket for awhile now and the big guns at Sony persuaded (forced) her to release it on the world. We’ve all demanded it for years, and now it’s finally here. Enjoy, Internet.

Even the director, Werner Herzog, wanted to change the title. After all, when you’re making a movie about a crooked cop, you probably don’t need a marketing ploy. Many films depicting good cops gone bad have gone on to become classics. Here are 10 of the greatest "dirty cop" films of all time.

Dirty Harry – The Dirty Harry Series

Nobody likes a dirty cop, unless of course that cop is abusing his power for the greater good. If a cop is shaking down drug dealers to line his own pockets, he’s considered a scum bag.  But if a cop shoves a plunger handle up some perp’s anus to force a rape confession, he’s just a loose cannon who doesn’t have time for bureaucratic formalities like "paper work" and "the Fifth Amendment." For example, Dirty Harry doesn’t play by "the rules," but he’s one of the most beloved on-screen cops of all time.

Alonzo – Training Day

This movie really hit home for me.  My partner once forced me to smoke PCP and then left me for dead with a group of Mexican gang bangers. Of course this was back in high school when I was working at a water park, so things ended up a lot better for me than they did for Alonzo, the crooked cop in Training Day. "King Kong ain’t got nothing on me." An accurate statement, considering Kong and Alonzo both end up getting shot to death. (Retroactive Spoiler Alert)

Captain Hank Quinlan – Touch of Evil

If there’s one thing that films have taught me, it’s that fat cops and corruption go together like Amy Winehouse and Valtrex. And they don’t get much fatter or more corrupt than Orsen Wells in Touch of Evil. But hey, you can’t make an omelet without strangling a few suspects, am I right?

The Lieutenant – Bad Lieutenant

As you’ve probably gathered from the title, this guy is one bad Lieutenant. Harvey Keitel plays a drug-addled cop who is up to his ears in gambling debt.  When he’s not getting stoned out of his mind and shaking down criminals for cash, he’s running a ponzi scheme on his fellow officers and sexually assaulting teenage girls. (Spoiler Alert) I hope you like Harvey Keitel’s junk as much as I do, because you get an eyeful of it.

The Sheriff of Nottingham – Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

If there’s one thing this crappy movie taught me, it’s that crooked cops have been around for a long, long time. I’m not an expert on British law, but I’m pretty sure you can’t just go around arbitrarily cutting people’s hearts out with spoons. You have to consult a priest and look at a sheep’s entrails first! Read your Magna Carta, Sheriff.

The Sheriff of Malibu – The Big Lebowski

Malibu is a nice quiet beach community,and this sheriff intends to keep it that way. He’s a real reactionary.  He’s probably the same guy who busted Mel Gibson for a DUI. F**king fascist!

Sheriff Will Teasle – First Blood

The sheriff in the first Rambo movie is a real dick.  He wants to run John Rambo out of town just because he’s a crazy drifter with a hunting knife as big as your head. I can’t understand why he doesn’t want Rambo around.  What a mean jerk.

Chief Wiggum The Simpsons Movie

Yeah, most of Wiggum’s corruption happens on the TV show, and not the movie. But he’s still a great example of a cop on the take.  If you don’t like it, make your own damn list.

Staff Sergeant Colin Sullivan – The Departed

Matt Damon plays a rat in the Massachusetts State Police Department in this Oscar winning Martin Scorsese film. All corrupt cop references aside, there is something genuinely satisfying about watching Matt Damon get repeatedly jacked in the face.

Norman "Stan" Stansfield – The Professional

Gary Oldman is at his creepiest as a crooked DEA agent who has now qualms about killing those who stand in his way.  On a list of 10 scum bags (Wiggum and Dirty Harry excluded), this is the only character who has no problems with killing children, and that is saying a lot.
